'Are you on your way?' Emily barked, and Scar's mood turned sourer. She wasn't in the mood for another argument. 'Just finalising packing. Uber is arriving in a mo.'
'Perfect, we have a travel company. Meet me at the T2 departure hall, near Café Nero. You'll find me.'
'Where - Emily?!' The line had gone dead, and Scar cursed about Emily.
Scar rushed to throw the rest of her items into the carry-on. Then, she shut it and ran out of the door to downstairs to catch an Uber.
Scar sprinted through the T2 terminal, a little out of breath as she was late, probably the first time in her life. Emile had given her a call just a minute before and demanded where the hell she was. Her phone rang again. 'Emily, I'm almost there-'
'Hi, love.' she stopped in her tracks when she heard Emerson's soft voice. 'Emerson?' He sighed on the other end. 'Yes, love. I wanted to let you know that I'm staying at my friend's place longer than I said at home... I think I need some space-', the words sucked the air out of her lungs, and an unpleasant feeling settled into her stomach, her heart cracked further wide of his words.
She had believed he had said things in the heat of an argument, not actually meaning them. No apologies, no remorse, nothing. She was sad, yet she understood that she had hurt his feelings with her insensitivity. 'Okay, love. When would you be back home? ' He didn't ask her where she was, why there was so much noise in the background. He didn't comment at all. 'I'll come back on Monday.' The numbness spread slowly across her, but she reacted when someone knocked on their call. She had a quick look and saw Emily's name, which made her curse, realising where she was. 'Alright, love. I'll speak to you when you get back home. I love you.'
'Bye, love.' When he didn't say 'I love you too', Her heart broke into pieces as they had never finished calls without it.
She stood in the middle of the airport, tears in her eyes, and were more upset about showing her emotions in the middle of a busy airport than the phone call with Emerson. A hysterical laugh escaped from her mouth when she kept shaking her head of an unrealistic situation. She was ready to begin her pity party, feeling sorry for her relationship falling apart. Her phone rang again, and she picked it up with a sigh. 'Emily-'
'Where the fuck are you?' she angry voice boomed through the phone, and Scar began jogging again, pity party forgot. 'I'm on my way. Emerson called me and -'
'Scar, you better be here in two minutes.' Emily ended the call without saying goodbye. 'I'm close, arsehole', Scar mumbled, staring at her phone in disbelieve briefly. She kept a steady phase across the terminal. She spotted Emily soon, throwing her head back with an extra-wide smile playing on her lips and laughing at something the person next to her had said.
'Fuck', when Scar recognised the group around Emily. She strolled towards, a sheepish look on her face when Emily threw daggers towards her with her eyes. 'What the fuck, Scar?' She hissed when they greeted each other. 'Complications at home. I'll explain later.' Scar murmured when they hugged each other. Emily huffed into her ear, and Scar was able to feel her disapproval.
'Let's meet the boys', Emily beamed and turned around, throwing her hands wide. 'You have already met some of them anyhow.' Emily shrugged when Scar scanned the group before her. Met some of them? She recognised Dan and Max, the rest, she had no clue. Great. 'Scar, meet the gents. Gents, meet Scar. Let's go.' Scar shot a confused look towards Dan, who matched the puzzled looks, but both shrugged and followed the group.
