Chapter 91

He muttered under his breathe and looked at the kitchen door from where Nandini was coming out with two cups of tea. She handed him one cup and sat beside him taking the another.

Nandini: What are you people discussing?

Navya: Cabir was telling jiju, why I shouldn't call him Bhai.

Nandini giggled and Manik looked at her with You-knew-it-too look.

Nandini: It was me who told her that!

She confessed proudly and laughed along with Navya while Manik didn't know if he should feel pity on his baby brother or laugh at his wife's actions.

Manik: Where are Mukti, Maa and Dad?

Navya: They are getting ready.

Manik: For?

He frowned in confusion and looked at Nandini who had went silent all of the sudden. Cabir mouthed hospital and Manik understood what was the matter. As today was Rhea's surgery, the whole family was planning to go there.

He nodded and finished his tea but didn't say a word to Nandini. He knew she needed some time, not words at that moment.

After sometime, when he was getting ready in their room, Nandini entered inside. She walked to him and hugged him tight, he smiled and hugged her back, giving the much needed comfort.

Manik: Best of luck

He broke the hug and kissed her head before pecking her lips softly. All the while she had her eyes down. He smiled and softly lifted her chin.

Manik: Say I love you

Nandini: Huh?

She frowned but it didn't change his expression, infact he whined.

Manik: Say na!

Nandini: I love you

Her frown deepened as he tch-ed in disappointment.

Manik: So unromantic, Mrs. Malhotra Thoda pyaar se bolo

He encouraged and she got his trick. She looked at him irritated and he laughed.

Manik: Bolo

He encouraged again and she sighed.

Nandini: I love you, Manik.

Manik: And I love you the most.

He confessed, this time his voice sweet and even she smiled which eventually made him smile.

Nandini: Sab meri ek smile ke liye?

Manik: Haan, sab tumhari ek smile ke liye, joh mere liye bohut precious hai.

He confessed and she chuckled before wrapping her arms around him again. After a minute, he gently patted her back and broke the hug.

Manik: Com'on, go and get ready.

She nodded and walked away while Manik stared at her disappearing figure with a sigh.

Murty Mansion

Abhi entered inside the mansion with his eyes dropping and head heavy. He stumbled on his steps when two hands held him. He looked up and found an angry Karan standing. His eyes fell on his mother and brother who were standing behind his father.

Karan: Where are you coming from?

His voice was stern and Abhi didn't know what to say. He had gone to a pub last night to clear his mind and unknowingly got drunk. As his alcohol tolerance was high, it didn't effect him much but he was too much tired to even stand straight.
