Shin Dong Hae (신동희) or his stage name Shindong (신동) is member South Korean boyband Super Junior. Shindong name same meaning with 'child prodigy'. He made a stage name 'Shindong' because real name is similar to Donghae. Shindong has a younger sister. Shindong's family has restaurant. In Shindong's mother restaurant, his mother's displaying a photograph and signature of Super Junior in one part of the wall. In July 2002, Shindong made his first public appearance when he was seen on the TV show Goyangsi Youth Dance contest and won the grand prize, a year later he joined the contest again and won gold. Shindong joined the Mnet Epi Contest and won both the gold prize and popularity award. He didn't join SM Entertainment until 2005 when he won first place on the 9th SM Youth Best Selection Best Comedian and achieving the grand prize.

Months after joining SM Entertainment, Shindong was put in Super Junior. Shindong ever think to come out of Super Junior because he felt himself the worst among the other. In the past, Shindong has been criticized for his large size, which contradicts many slim Korean idols. In 2008 Shindong on a diet and lost around 19 kg. In early 2009, Shindong lost another 10 kg after Leeteuk broadcasted a comment in "Super Junior's Kiss the Radio" saying that Shindong would lose more weight for the fans.

On November 6, 2005, Shindong debuted as an official member of Super Junior with their single debut 'TWINS (Knock Out)' on SBS’s music program Popular Songs. Shindong is also wrote lyrics and rap lyrics for a majority of Super Junior's songs. The rap lyrics to 'Show Me Your Love' from the winter single with TVXQ was written by him, along with Heechul and Eunhyuk. Shindong, Eunhyuk and Donghae also made some of Super Junior's dance routines. In February 2007, Shindong get into Super Junior subgroup. He goes into Super Junior-T together with Eunhyuk, Heechul, Kangin, Leeteuk, and Sungmin. A year later, Shindong became a member of Super Junior Happy together with Eunhyuk, Kangin, Leeteuk, Sungmin, and Yesung.

On April 18, 2007 Shindong, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun were injured in a car accident. Shindong and Eunhyuk suffered only bruises with some scratches, but Leeteuk had scratches on his back and his face, and must be received 150 stitches. While Kyuhyun who was sitting behind the driver's seat, the most severely injured. The accident occurred when they returning home after a recording of the radio show Super Junior Kiss the Radio.

In 2005, after debuted with Super Junior, Shindong became MC of Mnet's music program M!Countdown together with his bandmate Leeteuk and Kangin. They stayed as the hosts throughout the remaining year until Kangin was replaced by Eunhyuk in mid 2006. Shindong is popularly known as an active emcee and radio host of MBC's BoBoBo Ai Joa and KMTV's Green Apple Sound. Shindong become regular guests on SBS's Strong Heart together with his band mate Leeteuk and Eunhyuk since 2009 where they host special segment, Boom Academy, headed by entertainer Boom.
