Maddie's POV:

It was Saturday morning and school was done for the week.  And I was glad.  Because I really needed a break and all I wanted to do was just relax and enjoy the weekend.

I was sitting on the couch, flipping through a magazine,  when all of a sudden, Alyssa came out of her bedroom, clearly not having showered yet.  And although I tried not to stare, I couldn't help it.

She had her hair pulled back in a messy bun.  And she was wearing rather skimpy pajamas- short shorts and a matchIng off the shoulder top.   And even though I was trying not to stare, I'm not gonna lie.  She looked hot.  And it wasn't like I felt any kind of attraction towards her or anything,   it was just an observation, that's all.

I quickly looked away, not wanting her to catch me staring at her, as I glanced nonchalantly back at my magazine.   Because the last thing I wanted to do was to give her the wrong idea.

"Good morning, Cash", she said, yawning, sitting down next to me, a nickname she had given me, referencing my last name.

"Good morning", I said, smiling at her warmly, as I set the magazine down.  "How was last night?" I asked.

"I t was good.  I'm just tired because I was out late", she said, yawning again.

"Yeah, I know.  I heard you come home around 2 am.  Did you have fun?" I asked, knowing that she had went to a party.

"Yeah, it was a good time.  I didn't drink or anything.  But a lot of my friends were there."

"That's good", I said.  "I'm glad you had fun."

"Yeah", she said, pausing, then added, "You should have come.  It would have made it even more fun if you were there", she said, leaning back and propping her legs up on the coffee table.

"It would?" I asked.

"Yeah, I kinda missed you, dork", she said, playfully.   And to be honest, it kinda made me feel good that she had thought about me.

"I know.  I was just tired.  And just didn't really feel like going out", I said honestly.  Because it was true.  It had been a long, hard week.  Because on top of school, I was also dealing with everything with my mother.  There was a lot of planning that we still had to do, and a lot of things that we still needed to get ready in preparation for her arrival next week.  In fact, I had been over at Alexis' house every night this week, helping her make the final arrangements.  And although it was all good, I was exhausted.

She looked at me, and nodded, but I could tell, she wasn't completely convinced that that's all it was.  "You sure it's all it was?  You were just tired?"

"Yes", I said, simply, not really wanting to get into it.

She nodded again, seemingly alright with letting it go.  "I get that.  It was a long week.  And speaking of being tired, I need some coffee", she said, getting up.  "You want any?" she asked, walking to the kitchen.

"Yeah, sure."

A few minutes later, she brought out two mugs of coffee, and handed me mine.

"Here's your nasty black coffee", she said, making a face.

I laughed.  "It's not nasty.  It's good.  That's the way I like it", I said, taking a sip.

"Well, I don't like it like that, at all.  It's nasty", she said, taking a sip of her own coffee.

"Mine is?  Your's is.  You dump like a whole bottle of that flavored, liquid creamer in there.  Plus sugar.  There's more creamer and sugar than coffee", I said, poking fun of her coffee, since she was making fun of mine.
