Years ago you only dreamt of this moment, wishing that Paul could spend more time with you to make it a reality.

Look at the both of you now. Reunited, not as friends, but soulmates.

On the day of the wedding, you were as lively as could be. Veronica stood by your side, giving you advice, while Jake was with Paul.

Paul's POV
"Be honest, Jake, do I look nice?"

"Paul, after the wedding is over, she'll be all over you."

I chuckled. Once it began, Jake hurried to the front, giving me a thumbs up.

At long last, my beautiful bride lies in front of my eyes, but not before Veronica scatters her flowers along the isles.

Your POV
Vows were exchanged. A magical kiss sealed the deal. Your lifelong best friend has now become your sweet husband.

The few people who had come to the wedding went to the other room for the reception, where Jake and Veronica had both stopped you.

"Close your eyes and hold out your hands..." Jake warned.

You did as they said, where you were greeted to a familiar glass object: the vase. Paul's old signature was even perfectly aligned.

"How did you manage to put it back together?"

"With my intelligence and Jake's ability of helping, we did it." Veronica laughed.

"I will admit, it was my idea," Paul mentioned. "Jake showed it to me, and that's how I thought to do this."

You hugged all of them. This was the best present you could ever receive.

At Paul's age, you would think that he wouldn't be able to dance as well anymore.

You would be dead wrong.

Paul danced and spun you around to the song "I Saw Her Standing There" until you felt like you could vomit.

You were having the time of your life.

At the end of it all, Paul pulled you close and whispered in your ear, "I may not have written this song about you, but right now, it fits...".

As the song's calming melody chimed along the room, Paul danced with you again, but slowly, singing each line.

"You used to be my confidante
My underneath the staircase friend
But I fell out of love with you
And brought our romance to an end
I played with you throughout the day
And told you every secret thought
Unlike my other so called friends
You stood beside me as I fought
In your reflected glory
I could dream of shining far off lands
Where serpents turn to bits of string
And played like kittens in my hand
In our imaginary world
Where butterflies wear army boots
And stomp around the forest
Chanting long lost anthems, long lost anthems
You used to be my confidante
My underneath the staircase friend
But I fell out of love with you
And brought our romance to an end
I played with you throughout the day
And told you every secret thought
Unlike my other so called friends
You stood beside me as I fought
You stood beside me as I fought
You used to be my confidante"

It was the song you heard when this whole mess came to be a happy ending.

It truly was, as you never separated afterwards.
