Veronica's POV
Jake had called me into another room for a so-called private conversation. He probably doesn't approve of the new relationship between grandma and Paul. I wish he would just stop dragging me into it."What do you want, Jake?"
"You know exactly why I called you in here. Don't play dumb. You're supposed to be the smart one. After all, you're always in charge."
"This is about Paul and grandma, isn't it?"
"Of course it is! This is bad, Veronica!"
"Why is it so horrible? Why are you worked up over this?"
"I don't like Paul. He's a bad man."
"Oh really? You liked him when we were getting tickets for grandma and now all of a sudden because you've met him in person, you don't like him? That's ridiculous, Jake."
"It doesn't matter. Bottom line, I'm going to set up a plan to separate the two again, will you help?"
"No! I support them! I love their sweet relationship, it's adorable!"
"It's disgusting, that's what it is!"
After leaving the room, it turned out I didn't have to warn grandma or Paul at all, because she was there at the door, listening to the entire discussion, nearly in tears.
"Oh...um...so about what we said...I promise I've got nothing to do with it from this moment on..." I tried to explain, but she was already gone.
