I was genuinely concerned if we were running out of time. I tried to brainstorm ideas of saving a life, while Jake panicked in the kitchen.

"Jake! Will you make yourself useful and think of a way to help?!"

Uh oh. I'm getting snarky again.

Thankfully, a knock upon the door graced us. Whoever you are, please help us...

"Hello! Our grandmother has attempted suicide..."

"Excuse me?"

I wasn't really looking, so my jaw dropped when I saw who was at the door. "Mom? Dad?"

I didn't expect to see our parents standing there. I had questions, but I restrained from asking them just so grandma could be rescued.

They rushed inside and an ambulance was called. Finally, some help. Maybe she will be going to this concert and all that money won't be going down the drain.

"So...why are you two here? I thought you were on vacation. It's only the first night." I asked, breaking the awkward silence.

They both frowned. "We were planning to have a pleasant vacation away from the world..." Mom started.

"But someone took out tons of money from our account, forcing us to return." Dad added.

Jake and I cowered in fear.

"They don't know it was us..." Jake gulped, looking back and forth between me and our parents. "What are we going to do?"

"Right. Not a word about it, ok? Let me handle this."

I turn over to our parents. "Oh, that's unfortunate..."

Before my mother could open her mouth, we had arrived. She must have gotten suspicious. She had that evil glare in her eyes.

Please, please let this madness end...
