I adjusted myself on the bed and sat up. I looked at the IV bag and it was empty and honestly I was feeling so much better.

"Daddy!" I grinned as his face came into focus. He leaned over and he hugged me tight.

"Oh baby girl, you ended up in hospital the day we were suppose to go out for dinner." He kissed the top of my head and put the side of hospital bed down and sat next to me.

I looked at him, he was wearing a 90s style jacket, long sleeve jumper, jeans and trainers. I wrapped my arm around his.

"Awww, was that the surprise?" I frowned and there were tears in my eyes. I couldn't believe my father was really here.

Mase stood up and came by my side and held my hand. "Yeah babe we were all going to go to dinner tonight to surprise you."

"Awww that would have been fabulous but I'm glad you're here." I snuggled further into him. "So am I done? Can we go home?" I looked around for the doctor.

Aunt Verna was sitting at the side her phone  and Malcolm came back into the room with an iPad.

"Well your blood count is looking better and you're all done here. Dr Warner has prescribed you some tablets that you have to take every day." Mal came back with my prescription.

"I'll make sure she takes it." My dad took the prescription and cheesed.

"I remember when you were wee high in diapers. Now a doctor? Verna you got some good kids." He smiled and Malcolm blushed slightly which caused me to giggle.

"So when did you get out? Where have you been staying?" I asked him. Isabella came in to undo the IV drips and she put a plaster on where the needles were.

"I got out a few days ago and I was staying at a half way house. I wanted to get myself together before I saw you but your Uncle being your Uncle found me and put me in a B&B until I get back on my feet." My dad smiled and so did I.

"So can we go for dinner now? I can go right?" I grinned like a child and Isabella laughed and nodded.

"Just sign these release forms." She gave me. I signed the bottom and returned them to her.

"Are you sure you're up for going out for dinner?" Mase asked hesitantly.

I looked at him confused, "did you go to practice? I literally slept the whole afternoon."

He shook his head, "coach gave me the day off."

I sighed, but didn't comment. "I'm fine, I'm feeling better." I took the blanket off and got ready to stand up. My dad got up first and then he helped me get out of bed. "See."

I looked at my bed almost begging with my eyes, "it's up to your aunt Verna to be honest." He said with a sorrowful look.

Aunt Verna swallowed and stood up with a smile, "Mason she's fine. Her energy is back. I think we should in fact let them go out for dinner and we'll meet you guys back at the house."

I nodded and my dad took out his phone and ordered an Uber.

"Do you even know how to use that?" I teased and he chuckled.

"Don't worry, I am up to speed with everything." He booked us a cab straight to the restaurant.

I walked around and hugged Mason. I could tell he was a little worried, not just because of what had happened today but because this was the first time in almost ten years myself and my dad were going to be together in the same room.

"It's going to be fine." I whispered and I held his hand.

He nodded and kissed the side of my face, "text me if anything?"
