Chapter 46 ~ Of Witches And Vampires.

~Third Person's POV~

"Caroline! Stop and let me explain." Klaus pleaded as he followed Caroline to one of the balcony.

"Okay, explain." Caroline crossed her arms across her chest as she faced Klaus.

"It was just a one time thing; it didn't mean anything. And it was before I realized what I felt for you." Klaus stepped closer to her. "The baby is not going to come between us, I promise."

"Don't you see? It's not just the baby. It's your meetings with Eliza, ordering me to not get involved with matters that concern my friends,"

Klaus interrupted her ranting by kissing her and pulling her close to him. Caroline kissed back on instinct but pulled away after a while with an annoyed look on her face.

"You can't just kiss me and everything automatically becomes okay! It doesn't work that way Klaus." Caroline cried out exasperated.

"Caroline sweetheart, I have absolutely no feelings for Eliza. What you saw was two old friends catching up. She was my past. You are my present and hopefully, if you allow me, my future, for all eternity."

"That's not fair. You make me a mushy gooey mess with a few words." Caroline mock complained with a small smile, her anger melting away.

"You don't need to worry about Hayley and the baby. I won't give up the baby because I won't put him or her through what I felt with my father. I want to be there for the baby as much as I can and I hope you understand that."

"Of course I do. I wouldn't dream of asking you to give up your kid. But it does change a lot of things. The innocent child deserves both parents, not just-"

"Caroline, don't worry about it. Leave it to me." Klaus told her. "Now let's get back to the others."

"So you can have this room. You have grown attached to Tyler so I chose a room close to his. I hope you like the decorations and clothes I and Rebekah picked out for you. This mansion is safe for you and the baby. I doubt anyone would even have the guts to try anything with almost a dozen supernatural people on our side." Amelia chuckled at the end.

"I must admit, I didn't expect such a warm welcome." Hayley confessed.

"You are carrying our niece or nephew, something that could prove to be the redemption for Klaus that we all have been waiting for. You are going to be surprised quite a lot I am sure."

"What happens to me? After the baby is here, I mean. Klaus has Caroline so I am sure he could care less about me. I appreciate the concern and comfort that you all are providing right now. But I am sure it's only because I am carrying the heir of a Mikaelson. You guys are practically royalty in the supernatural world."

"Nobody will hurt you, I give you my word. If you want, we will make you into a hybrid." Amelia offered.

"I'll think about it. I am not particularly fond of the whole drinking blood to survive idea." Hayley let out a chuckle.

"Hybrids don't need the blood to survive. You just need some blood once a month or so. There are tons of perks as well. The power you will experience is exhilarating. The speed, the strength will be like nothing you could imagine. Think over it." Amelia said with a smile and exited the room to give Hayley some privacy with her thoughts.

"What do you think of her?" Kol asked almost making Amelia jump.

"You need to learn that scaring people isn't a good thing." Amelia scolded him as he fell in pace with her.
