Chapter 53 ~ Who is the most cunning of them all?

~Amelia's POV~

"Quit stalling and tell me what you know. I have to destroy the other side. I don't have much time, I'm not immortal anymore."

"You won't be able to destroy the other side." I sighed.

"Why not? It's all I have ever wanted to do. It's one of the only few things on my to do list!"

"Because the anchor is Amara!"

"Amelia!" Jeremy hissed and I shushed him.

"Are you playing me?" He cleared his throat before speaking again.

"No, I'm not. I have no reason to." I frowned.

"Amara is dead."

"Maybe. Maybe not." I replied, not knowing the exact story.

"What do you mean, Amelia?" Silas asked, seemingly calm.

"Not entirely sure. We have to go and check." I sighed.

"What's the Mystic Falls gang's play in all this?" He asked after a moment.

"They just want to be rid of you and get their friend back."

"How on Earth can that happen?"

"Can we focus on finding Amara first?" I rolled my eyes.

"Are you tracking the cargo?"

"That's what Junior here is for." I pointed to Jeremy.

"Let's go then." Silas motioned to his van and I narrowed my eyes.

"We are taking my Camaro."

"Why?"

"Because we can't take my Lamborghini." I said flatly and the two boys followed me to my car.

"Are we there yet?" Silas asked impatiently and I screeched the car to a halt.

"Get the fuck out." I snarled, unlocking his door.

"What? Why?"

"Because you're pissing me off. You don't like my songs. You refuse to understand the rules of the car games."

"I wanted to ask you something." Silas piped up after a moment, I'd continued on to our destination, some abandoned warehouse. "Why didn't you rush to check up on your boy?"

"And you ask too many questions." I growled, flashing my eyes green, the thoughts I'd kept buried worming their way out.

"Is Michael okay?" Jeremy asked. I always wondered if he was too naïve or he just cared a lot?

"Yeah, kid, he's fine." I lied.

Third Person's POV

Michael woke up with a killer headache. He clutched at his head and grabbed the aspirin that someone offered him. After swallowing it with water he paused. He sniffed, closing his eyes, ignoring the snickers around him.

"Michael?" Katherine asked hesitantly, worried for her friend's boyfriend. The guilt was hitting her hard and she worried what Amelia would do. Amelia, who had still not shown up.

"Katherine? I didn't know it was you." Michael looked up to see his room crowded with his hybrid friends, Katherine and Kol.

"How do you feel?"

"Sore." Michael stretched. Someone pounced at him and he tried baring his fangs at them but nothing happened.

"Alright, so you're definitely human." Kol noted and the hybrid got off him, giving him a hand.
