Chapter 12 ~ Three Originals In The Same Town Is Never A Good Idea. The History Books Prove that.

~Amelia's POV~

All Elijah wanted to talk about was how we should try to be a family again. He also apologized to us for what he had done. Nik and I didn't believe him of course but we faked that we did. Elijah was surely planning something and we played along for that sake.

After Elijah left, Nik and I went to the Mystic Grill and did some catching up. Klaus had been planning some things due to which he hadn't come to see me earlier. He also had Katherine kept away safely.

"So, how have you been?" Nik asked sipping on his drink.

"It's been alright." I said shrugging.

"I hear you have gone to school." He stated raising an eyebrow.

"Well, you weren't here, so I had to do something. So I enrolled in school. It helped me to get to know more about the doppelganger and her friends." I replied nonchalantly.

"Hmmm. What about the blond one, Caroline was it? And also not forgetting Damon Salvatore." He asked with a smirk.

I gave him an unimpressed look and said, "Caroline happens to be my...friend. You could Damon my friend as well." I said frowning at the latter. I really didn't know what Damon was. We hung out regularly but that would be due to the fact that we were bored and we had a deal to uphold.

"I see." Nik replied with a thoughtful expression on his face.

"When is the sacrifice going to take place?" I asked him curiously.

"Next full moon."

"But that's just 3 days away." I said frowning. "How will you get everything ready by then?"

"I have the moonstone already. Katerina had it. I have arranged for the werewolf and the vampire." He informed me.

"Nik, about that. Can you not use Caroline as the vampire for the sacrifice? Katherine had turned her for that purpose but I don't want to use her. She is my friend." I told him hesitantly afraid of how he may reply.

He didn't say anything for a while, just assessing me. "Fine, I won't use her. It's obvious that she means a lot to you."

"Thank you Nik." I told him sincerely, thanking that Nik seemed in a good mood. He didn't usually care for friendship.

"Just remember Amelia, humanity is a vampire's greatest weakness." He warned me.

"Don't worry Nik, my humanity is out of reach." I quipped and sipped at my drink.

"I am just looking out for you."

"Yeah. I know." I said giving him a smile. "Come on, let's go play pool. I know I am going to kick your ass!"

"Hah! No way little sister." he said getting up from the bar stool.

We took an empty pool table and Klaus arranged the balls. After a while,

"See, I told you I would win!" I said doing a mini victory dance. We had been playing pool and I had been sinking balls repeatedly rarely giving him a chance to play.

"That's just by fluke." Klaus grumbled.

"Aww is the great Klaus sad that he lost at a game of pool?" I said in a baby voice pouting a bit.

"No." he said looking anywhere but at me. "You used your witchy mojo. I know it. You can't possibly win against me." he accused.

"Psh. Please. Just accept that you lost the game Klaus!"
