Chapter 27

"So he bought the Riverdale Register now as well?" I ask pouring a cup of coffee as Jughead was pinning something up on his Hiram mystery board. The door opens and dad walks in after his shift
"Hey" Jug says taking the coffee out of my hand. Dad looks at the board
"Whats all this?"
"Hopefully it's the article that saves the town from Hiram Lodge"
"Jughead"
"If I can fit the pieces together"
"Boy you need to drop this"
"No actually I'm with Jughead on this one"
"Don't get involved Ella"
"Dad just think about how weird it is. Hiram is buying property, he's up to something and it can't be good" I say moving out the kitchen to sit on our couch
"He rescued us, forgave our debts"
"What? He's the reason we almost lost the trailer park"
"He wants this ground for his Sodale or whatever he's calling it" I take a sip of my coffee
"Hiram is slicker than a bottle of snake oil but this is..." dad walks up the the board
"Dad please. Hiram Lodge just bough the Riverdale Register. He's trying to silence dissenting voices before he makes his big play. He's afraid. Afraid of this big exposure" dad is now sat at the table with Jughead who is behind his laptop
"I don't know boy sounds a bit far fetched. And anyway why are you bringing Ella into this? Sweet Pea says she's starting to sound like you" dad chuckles "Ella how are you doing in class now?"
"Better thanks to Jughead. I probably won't get an A but I should pass"
"Good. I'm proud of you kiddo"
"Thanks. I'm gonna head in the shower then go to bed I'll see you guys in the morning"
"Goodnight Ella"
"Night sis"

In the upcoming days we learnt that Cheryl was missing and that we will be choosing our student council president. I'm sat in between Fangs and Sweet Pea holding his hand. Dad sat next to Fangs
"Ok now just a reminder that this school hall is a PTA sponsored event. Oh looks like we have our first question" Alice Cooper says pointing to Sweet Pea who is now standing up
"Yeah. No offence to the current administration but it feels like no ones looking out for the students being bused in from the Southside. Will that change?" Jug takes the mic
"Absolutely Sweet Pea. That's our priority. No one should be marginalised or excluded here" dad looks at me
"Jughead and I will be representing all students North and Southside alike"
"Next question" Alice quickly interrupts. Pea sits back down huffing, once again I take his hand and smile at him. Midge is next to stand up
"My question is for Archie and Veronica. Rumour has it your parents will soon be on opposite sides of the mayoral election. Won't that negatively affect your working relationship" I look over to Josie who looks smug, I really don't like her
"Archie and I adhere to the old maxim that politics are never discussed at the dinner table or the cafeteria table" the crowd laughs but the Serpents all roll their eyes
"Veronica and I are on the same page about everything. Including her family's plans for a prison on the Southside"
"You mean buying our home and building a prison where our old school used to be?" I stand up "or you mean the fact that her dad bought the trailer park. How long will it be until we're kicked out huh? I'm sorry but you definitely won't have the Serpents vote" I scowl crossing my arms sitting down
"That is something that I do not deal with however we are committed to improving life at Riverdale High which means more extracurriculars..."
"Reggie and I agree except add the fact that we can and will deliver results" Josie says
"And we're chill unlike these guys" Reggie now says
"I'm getting really pissed off" I move in my seat whispering to Pea
"You say that but we know how he feels about us Serpents" Fangs yells
"Come on guys let's go" I stand up pulling Pea and Fangs up with me. The rest of the Serpents follow.

"Babe?" Sweet Pea says while running his finger up and down my arm while I'm lying on his bare chest
"Hmm" I hum content
"Do you want to move in here?"
"What?" I sit up looking in his eyes
"Well your always here and it must be crowded at home with FP, Jug and the Northsider"
"What about your mum?"
"She loves you and I may have already spoke to her about it" I smile wide as I lean down to Peas lips
"Yes, I'd love to move in" I kiss Sweet Pea which soon turns into a make out session
"I love you Ella Jones"
"I love you too Noah Miller" Pea scrunches his face
"You know I hate my name" I giggle
"Well I don't" I kiss him once again before lying back down to fall asleep.

I walk into Pops to grab breakfast for Pea and I
"Hey Princess"
"Hi dad"
"The usual?"
"Yeah please. You good? You look like you've not slept all night"
"I'm fine"
"Dad I need to talk to you"
"Of course what's up?" Dad leans over the counter
"Pea asked me to move in with him" dad raises his eyebrows and stands back up
"Oh, but your both young you don't know what will happen with you two"
"Dad I love him, please" he stands there and crosses his arms and thinks
"Alright I'll make you a deal. You can live at Pea's Sunday night to Wednesday morning. Rest of the time you come home to our trailer"
"Thank you thank you thank you" I walk around the counter and kiss him on the cheek. Dad smiles as I grab breakfast
"I love you Ella"
"I love you too dad" I walk out at get on my bike headed back to the trailer.
