Chapter 19

"Baby did you hear?" Sweet Pea runs over to me as I walk out the bathroom after once again throwing up
"Hear what?"
"Southside High is closing" he spins me around making me feel worse
"Baby please don't do that I feel like shit"
"Sorry babe come on let's get outa here" Pea takes my hand and we head to the doors. He lets go and kicks the doors with Fangs cheering while I laugh
"What's going on?" Jug asks standing up from his previous sitting position
"The hellholes officially closed we're done" Pea says snaking an arm around my waist
"No more Southside high" I say smiling at my boyfriend
"What how?" Toni asks confused
"They say it's dangerous. It's gonna be quarantined. Who cares? We're all going to different schools"
"This doesn't make sense. Where are you guys going?"
"Same as you and you and Fangs and Princess. We're going to Riverdale high" Pea lets me go and starts play fighting with Fangs "think of all those Northsiders heads to knock" the boys all laugh and Sweet Pea takes my hand leading me to his bike
"Babe I don't know if I can ride the bike. I feel like I'm gonna throw up every time I move"
"Want me to walk with you back to the trailer? I can pick up my bike later"
"Yeah but can we go back to yours. I really don't want to face my brother and dad having another argument"
"Come on Princess lets go. We'll catch you later Fangs"

I walk out the bathroom over to Sweet Pea's couch
"Babe are you sure your ok? Like how long have you been sick for?"
"Since the fight with Archie and the bulldogs so just over 2 weeks" I sigh and cuddle up to Pea
"Maybe you should go to the doctors or something?"
"Ughh no I really don't want to do that"
"Well if it carries on your gonna have to..... do you feel any better now you've been sick?"
"A little" Pea holds me tighter
"Pea what if I'm really sick?"
"Then I'll be by your side through it all" he kisses the top of my head and I fall asleep in his arms.

The next day I get up, luckily not feeling sick, in Sweet Pea's bed. I look at him sleeping peacefully next to me. I get up and have a shower, I get dressed, put some makeup on and grab my jacket
"Morning Princess"
"Good morning baby" I jump on the bed and kiss him
"Your in a good mood this morning. Feeling better?"
"Yup. Now come on go get ready it's our first day at Riverdale High" Pea groans as he gets up. Once we're ready we head outside and I see his bike, I look at him confused
"Last night, after you fell asleep, I put you in my bed and I went to fetch my bike" I nod my head understandingly and get on the back.

We ride over to our new school and see the other serpents waiting for us. We all walk in together, getting a lot of glares. I'm holding on to Sweet Pea's hand while Jughead and Toni are in front of us. We walk down the hall until we see a desk with Archie and Veronica
"Friends. On behalf of the students and faculty here at Riverdale High welcome to your new school" I roll my eyes at her "to ease this transition I've set up a registration desk where you can get your locker assignments, schedules and a list of sports and extracurriculars"
"We do plenty of that" Sweet Pea mutters under his breath. I nudge him smiling
"we encourage each and everyone of you to drink deeply from the cup that is fair riverdale" Sweet Pea and I scoff
"Stand down Eva Peron" we look up to see a girl in a red dress walking next to Reggie Mantle followed by cheerleaders
"Theres the school spirt I so fondly remember" Jughead says to Toni
"Cheryl no one invited fascists barbie to the party"
"Wrong Veronica. No one invited Southside scum to our school. Listen up ragamuffins. I will not allow Riverdale's Highs above average GPA to suffer because of classrooms overcrowded with underachievers so please find some other school to debase with your hardscrabble ways" I look at Sweet Pea "oh and we don't want snakes who have to sleep with their teacher to pass" she looks at me. I move forward letting go of Pea's hand. He crosses his arms watching me
"You wanna come over here and say that to my face?"
"Happily queen of the buskers" Cheryl steps closer
"What the fuck did you just say?" I ball my fists up when Archie stands in between us
"Ok guys. Everyone"
"Archie I suggest you move unless you want another beating, I doubt this time your girl toy has a gun with her"
"El don't" I hear Jugead behind me. I sigh walking back to Sweet Pea who immediately pulls my into his chest
"Can we just put our Northside Southside differences apart and start over? A new slate"
"You don't speak for the bulldogs. And I'll remind you these greaser snakes showed up at your place to kick your ass" Reggie comes forward
"You know what I think it's time to finish what we started" Sweet Pea says angry pushing me and Toni to the side while Fangs pulls us behind him. Jughead stops Pea and Veronica steps in
"I am so over the toxic masculinity in this hallway right now"
"Alright. Enough pomp and circumstance. Everyone let's get to class. Now" the principle comes over. Reggie looks irritated and Cheryl looks down at her shoes. We walk past them and Jughead takes us to a lounge area.

I'm sat on the edge of a table facing Pea
"I don't think we've properly met. Veronica Lodge" she extends a hand to Toni
"From the park avenue Lodges" Jug says while eating
"Toni Topaz" Toni shakes Veronicas hand. I glance over at a girl who's stood next to the couch Sweet Pea is on, she's looking at him in a way I don't like
"Like the purple coloured gem stone. Love it"
"And I'm Josie McCoy formerly of the pussycats" shes still looking at Pea so I get up and sit on his lap wrapping my arms around his neck smirking at her "now just Josie. And this is Kevin" Kevin and Fangs stare at each other
"What's your name?" Kevin asks
"Fogarty or you can call me Fangs" he says playing with some candy "your last names Keller right?"
"Yeah how did you know that?"
"Joaquin and I used to hang out. He used to talk about you all the time" I turn to face Pea who's smiling at me
"What?"
"Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?"
"Oh shut up" I lean in to kiss him but I'm interrupted
"You guys" we all look at Principal Weatherbee "yes you. Come with me. Now" I get up from Pea's lap and hold his hand. We follow him out and see Reggie stood with his arms crossed looking smug next to a very poor effort of our Serpent symbol
"Which of you defaced our schools seal with this graffiti?"
"This is what they do Principal Weatherbee. They tag their turf" Reggie says
"My god Reggie could you be anymore transparent?" Reggie nods not really understanding what Veronica is saying
"Effective immediately no gang behaviour of any kind will be tolerated in my school"
"Are you kidding? First of all if it was one of us we would have at least got it right and secondly he basically just admitted that he did it" I say getting angry
"As of this moment no more Serpent jackets"
"What?" Sweet Pea shouts 
"Are you kidding?" Jugs says
"No more Serpent jackets and all tattoos are to be covered. Possession of any gang paraphernalia will lead to immediate suspension. That's all" we turn at head over to our next class extremely irritated.
