"Zoe, meet Brayson. Brayson, meet Zoe."

The nurse introduces the two of them, but Zoe keeps cooped up in her little corner, while Brayson's eyes kept locked on Zoe's bare arms and the multiple welts of picked skin, all dry and blood red.

As Brayson slowly sits down on his bed, the nurse informs them that she'll be outside if anything was to happen.

Zoe finally gains the courage to look up into his bloodshot eyes, complemented by dark brown orbs.

Her dull green eyes scan his messy hair and his perfect eyebrows, all the way along his sharp cheekbones and down to his wonderfully sculpted jawline.

All the bugs and scary things Zoe see seem to dissapear once they hit the bruised and battered layers of skin that cover the delicate insides of the boy infront of her.

Brayson watches as he eyebrows furrow in confusion.

Neither of them dare make a sound.

Finally, Zoe speaks up.
