It was currently 1pm and I still had four hours left, I was currently at work cleaning yet another dirty table, I had only started at twelve but I had been working the night before. The job was crappy and the pay way shit but it was all I could get, I needed the money so I had to pull as many shifts as possible. I sprayed the table surprising a yawn when a group of girls sat down at the table next to me.
"Last night was insane" the girl loudly said as I carried on wiping the table down.
"I can't believe he'd do that" I tried to ignore the girls as much as possible till they said a name that drew me back into their conversation.
"I mean what was JJ thinking doing that" I focused my hearing on the girls conversation but they just kept going on about how insane whatever JJ did was but not actually mentioning what is was. After I finished the table I turned to the table of girls.
"Excuse me but what did JJ do?" The girl with blonde hair turned to say something but stopped when she saw it was me.
"Hey y/n" she smiled changing the look on her face. The girl was something from my history class.
"What did JJ do?" I questioned again holding the rag in my hand, the girl seemed to think about what to say before speaking.
"He held a gun against a kooks head then shot it off in the air" I couldn't believe what I was hearing, where the hell did JJ even get a fun from. I didn't reply to the girl I just walked back to the counter throwing the rag down before walking to the staff room pulling my phone from my jacket pocket and quickly messaging JJ.
To: JJ
We need a serious
conversation

I hit send as my boss popped her head into the room.
"Y/n!" I turned to look at her as I slipped my phone away. "I don't pay you to be on your phone. Get back out" I forced a smile before walking passed her and back out to take the orders and to serve. I couldn't help but think about what JJ did, he could get into some serious shit, his done some stupid shit before but this...
"You okay?" One of my coworkers asked as I stood at the counter.
"Fine" I lied.
"Really because you've been looking at those napkins like they murdered your family" she laughed as she wiped the counter down. I rolled my eyes a small smile playing on my face but it was wiped away when I thought of JJ again. I turned looking up at the clock, three thirty only an hour and a half left I thought.

My shirt finally finished I grabbed my jacket not bothering changing before walking out and towards JJs. It only took me about twenty minutes to reach the boys house, I checked that his dads car wasn't here because that also was not a thing I wanted to deal with, his dad was a bastard. I walked up opening the door and walking in.
"JJ" I called as I walked in looking in the different rooms.
"Hey y/n" he walked out scratching the back of his neck. "You wanted to talk" I crossed my arms as he walked forward.
"Want to explain what happened last night?" I bite the inside of my cheek walking passed him and to the kitchen. JJ didn't say anything. "It looks like you dropped something" confusion crossing the boys face.
"Dropped what?" He seemed to quickly look around him.
"Your common sense, your moron, what the hell were you thinking" I stressed as JJ let out a sigh.
"Topper was drowning John B, what was I supposed to do" he walked forward.
"Not shoot a gun" JJ shook his head turning away from me. He ran a hand across his face before quickly turning back.
"It was stupid okay but I did what I thought was best at the time" I could tell that he truly meant that.
"Next time use a bit of common sense, I don't want to visit you in a jail cell" JJ looked down, I didn't say anything I just walked over and quickly pulled him into a hug. "I know you were just being a good friend"
