I finished breakfast that mom had sent to my room before changing into a black pair of ripped skinny jeans, a crop top, matched with a black leather jacket and my Vans to finish off the look. My long dark brown hair was straightened and left open.

"Honey, how are you doi-" mom walked into my room

"Honey, how are you doi-" mom walked into my room. "Oh no, Skylar Rose Grey! You are not going out, you're meant to be resting" she said sternly, as she walked towards me.

"Mom, my injuries have healed and I'm not in pain anymore. I really want to go to the basement with dad. Please" I pleaded, stubbornly.

"Fine, but behave" my mum sighed, giving in to my request. She knew that once I've made my mind up, it's hard to make me change it. She gave me a kiss on the cheek then walked out of my room.

I finished tying up my laces and tightened my pony tail. Doing a once over in the mirror, I approved off my all black look and my minimal makeup, consisting of some red lipstick and mascara. My badass look mirrored the task at hand.

I grabbed my phone and saw a few missed calls and messages from Jess and Blake. I decided I would text them after I'm back from the basement. I put my phone into my pocket and walked out of my room. I met dad outside his office and he looked at me surprised.

"Shouldn't you be in bed resting, Sky" he said.

"No dad, I'm coming with you to question those rogues. They came after me and attacked me so I want to know why" I said angrily, with furrowed eyebrows.

"That anger and determination reminds me of when I was younger," my dad said with pride, "come on, let's go."

We walked out of the pack house towards the pack basements, where we imprison trespassers and rogues. As we walked down the stairs, the strong smell of blood, sweat and puke hit me causing me to almost wretch. We walked past cells, listening to screams and groans of pain, one particular familiar howl of pain causing shivers to travel up my spine.

We stopped at a cell that was at the end of one of the corridors and walked in to see Liam holding a knife in front of a man, that was covered in blood and sweat. The man looked up as soon as he heard us open the door to the cell, his eyes locked on me. "He hasn't revealed anything yet Dad" Liam said. Dad nodded, then dismissed him and we walked closer to the rogue.

The man's hair was wet with sweat and blood covered his whole body. I saw a chunk of his neck missing and his bright, pink flesh showing and I couldn't help but smirk with recognition of what I did do him. His dark, almost black eyes narrowed at me in anger, then quickly changed into a more sinister, evil look as he laughed like a mad man. Me and my dad looked at each other and he nodded at me as if to say this was my job. He went to the opposite end of the room and leaned against the wall.

I smirked as I walked up to the table a few feet away from the man and looked for a tool to use. I chose a sharp blade that was covered in silver and walked towards the man. "Why did you attack me?" I asked him. He simply looked at me, smirked then spat at my shoes. I sneered at him and punched his jaw, causing his head to snap to the right. He groaned in pain as blood dropped to the floor.

"I don't want to ask again" I said, the venom in my voice foreign to my own ears, "Why. Did. You. Attack. Me?" I questioned as I traced the knife down his arm, adding slight pressure. He hissed as the silver burned his exposed skin. He didn't tell me so I began dragging the knife through his skin. His blood dripped onto the floor and he screamed in pain. I removed the knife and stabbed his shoulder.

"Fine, I'll tell you. Stop!" he screamed as droplets of sweat fell from his forehead. I smirked at that and moved the knife away from his skin, motioning for him to continue.

"The rogue king..." he stammered as he groaned in pain between his words "wants you" I looked at my dad questioningly but his gaze didn't meet my eyes. At this, I knew he was hiding something from me.

I looked at the rogue expectantly, "I don't know...why...but...he sent us...to take you to him. Alive. That's all I know..." he said taking deep breaths between his words. At that, my dad's wolf growled in anger at the thought of his daughter in danger.

"I mind linked Blake to take you back to the pack house. He's on his way. I'll finish him and the others off, they're off no more use to us." my dad said in anger, as his brows were furrowed and his jaw clenched in anger.

I nodded before walking back upstairs. Blake was waiting outside the basement and looked up at me as soon as he saw me. His eyes were worried as he looked at me. I smiled at his concern "Let's go home."

As we walked back to the pack house, I couldn't help but remember the look on my dad's face when we found out that the rogue king was after me. I definitely knew he was hiding something from me. What was he hiding from me? Why does the rogue king want me? I'm not even next in line to be Alpha. All these questions filled my thoughts and I didn't even realise Blake had been talking to me.

"Skylar? How did it go? Why didn't you stay at home and rest. When Clara told me you had gone, I was so angry." Blake said, which snapped me out of my thoughts, "Are you okay? You were out of it for a minute."

"I'm okay, yeah it went smoothly and we got the rogue to talk. I didn't want to stay in bed when the rogue that attacked me was in the basement. I needed to get answers and now I have them." I answered as I looked away. I noticed pack members looking at me weirdly and looked down to see I had blood on my hands and down my arms. Great. I needed to shower again.

"Sky, I-" Blake began to say something as we walked into the house but was interrupted by Lily running towards us and hugging us. The smell of mom's amazing chocolate chip cookies hit my nose.

"Sky, why are you bleeding?" she questioned as she looked up at me through her lashes. She didn't like seeing blood. "It's okay Lil." I reassured her with a smile, "it's not my blood. It's a naughty man's blood." she nodded and went skipping to the lounge.

I noticed Blake was looking at me with his brows furrowed, his lips pursed and he was clearly deep in thought. "Blake?" I called out to him.

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked up at me, "Yeah, sorry I was just thinking."

"About?"

"You. What if you didn't mind link your dad in time yesterday? Something really bad could have happened to you. I was really worried. You scared me, Skylar. I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to you." his eyes swirled with an emotion I couldn't identify.

"Blakey, I'm strong, nothing will happen to me. You don't need to worry" I said as I smiled and hugged him. I felt him inhale my scent as his arms tightened around me.

"Sky, hey I came by in the morning but Clara told me you were with Alexander" Jess said as she came from the kitchen with a cookie in her hand. Blake loosened his hold on me, but his arms lingered around me for a few seconds before he let go. The air felt different but I had no idea why.

I cleared my throat before stepping away from Blake "Hey Jess" I greeted as we walked to the kitchen where mom, Kylie and Emily all sat eating mom's freshly baked cookies.

"Hey honey, go get yourself cleaned up. You're covered in blood" my mom said as soon as she noticed us walk in. I nodded, greeted them all and then washed my hands before grabbing a cookie. As I walked upstairs to my bedroom, I munched on the delicious cookie and moaned at its taste. Mom's cookies have been my favourite snack since I was a little girl. I walked into my room and went over to my closet and grabbed a pair of jeans and a jumper before going into my bathroom to shower.

What do you think Blake was about to say before he got interrupted?

What do you think Alexander is hiding from Skylar?
