A/n  This chapter is kind of a 'part one'.  The next chapter will be Archies POV of this chapter.

Betty POV

I felt the car come to a halt.

"Shit." Archie muttered under his breath.

"How long was I out for?" I asked.

"Not long, we just pulled up."

He looked kind of panicked.

"Ok." I stared at him for a second then said, "What are we waiting for?"

"Nothing." He said with a smile.

"Alright weirdo" I laughed. "I'm starving, let's eat."

"Sounds good to me." He laughed back.

We got out of the car and headed for the door.

"Hey Pop." Archie and I said in unison.

"Hey kids. What'll it be?"

"Usual would be great" Archie said.

I looked around the dinner, and then started walking to our usual booth.

All of the sudden Archie ran in front of me.

"What are doing Arch?" I asked

You could tell his heart was racing.  The panic is his eyes was worrisome.

"Uhhhhh..." he stalled. "I just thought we could sit on the other side of the diner."

"Archie, why would we sit on the other side of the diner?" I questioned.

"No reason. It's just we always sit over here so I thought why not go sit on the other side."

"What's going on Archie? You're being really weird."

"Uhh... ok let's sit in the usual booth, but you sit on the right."

"Sounds good." I laughed. I didn't see any point in investigating further.

We slid into the booth as a waitress brought over two waters.

"Thank you." I said.

Archie was bouncing his leg under the table

"Arch, seriously, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing Betty.  I just didn't sleep well."

It's not that  I didn't believe he didn't sleep well, I knew it wasn't the reason he was acting like this.

"Archie..."

"Betts, it's nothing.  Please just drop it."

"Fine.  I'm just going to wash my hands."

I never thought a short walk to the bathroom would fuck up my whole morning.
