A/n This chapter is being written at a very late time so it might not make a lot of sense.  Archie and Veronica's POV.  I'm so fucking tired and I have a ton of homework overdue or soon to be due.

Archie POV

Once I saw that she had entered the house successfully, I directed my attention elsewhere.

It was quiet. So quiet it was unsettling.

I don't mind silence in general but I wasn't in the mood to be alone with my thoughts.

Out of nowhere a blasting ring shot through the inside of the truck.

The sight of the caller ID scared me. I had no idea what I was going to say to Veronica.

I could only imagine how panicked she is to not know where Betty is.

"Hey Ronnie."

Veronica POV

I turned over to reach for my beau but found nothing but empty sheets.

I grabbed my phone to check the time.

[7:23am]

I got up in desperate need of coffee.

I made sure to open the door quietly so as to not wake our house guests. Little did I know I was about to be met by one.

I looked into the living room and saw Juliet sitting half-awake on the couch.

"Juliet? What's going on, why are you up so early?" I asked genuinely confused.

She turned towards me and asked, "Do you know where my mom is?"

I was confused by the question.

"Was she not in the room with you?" She shook her head no. "Did you check the bathroom?"

"Yeah, and the kitchen but I can't find her."

I was starting to worry myself. Where could she be this early in the morning?

I decided to call Archie.

I started pacing back and forth while waiting for him to pick up. He usually went on runs when he was out this early so there was no guarantee on him answering his phone.

She has to be with him. He probably just took her out to breakfast.

After four anticipated filled rings he picked up.

"Hey Ronnie."

"Where are you Archie?!" I didn't mean to say it that loud. "I'm sorry Archie. Have you seen Betty?"

He took a deep breath into the phone, "Yes we went out to breakfast."

"Oh..." I said with suspicion. "Are you still there?"

"We actually left a while to go"

The slowness of this conversation was painful.

"So where are you now?"

Where the hell could they have gone that makes him have to act this secretly?

"We drove to our childhood homes." he said innocently enough.

"Is Betty with you in the car? Can I talk to her?" I persisted.

"She actually went to see her mom..."

"Why did you let her do that?!"

"Veronica, I'm not her keeper and neither are you. She's a grown woman and she can make her own choices."

Not going to lie, that one hurt a little.

"Ok... Just make sure she's ok."

"Ok Ronnie. I'll see you later."

"Sure." I said as I hung up.

That was probably a bit harsh of me.

I turned to see Juliet hadn't moved from her spot on the couch.

"Hey Juliet."

She turned to face me, "What's going on?"

"Don't worry Jules. Betty and Uncle Archie just went to breakfast."

"Oh... Ok then."

I wasn't positive on what to do next.

"Want to get some sleep now that you know she's safe?"

She nodded her head while pushing herself off the couch.

We walked into the guest room together where I proceeded to tuck her under the blanket.

"Do you know where my dad is?"

I felt a tightness in my throat.

"He's doing something for work right now."

"Why hasn't he called me or mom." she replied with a brokenhearted expression.

"I'm sure he's just really busy right now and couldn't get to the phone."

She gave a small smile then turned towards the other side of the bed.

"Sleep well."

I kissed her head then walked back into the living room.

Archie POV

"Hey Ronnie."

"Where are you Archie?!" she said harshly. "I'm sorry Archie. Have you seen Betty?"

I took a deep breath into the phone. I guess I should have spent more time coming up with an excuse.

"Yes we went out to breakfast."

"Oh... Are you still there?"

"We actually left a while to go"

The conversation was occurring at such a slow rate I couldn't tell who was speaking slower.

"So where are you now?"

"We drove to our childhood homes." I said trying to hide my guilt.

"Is Betty with you in the car? Can I talk to her?" she persisted.

"She actually went to see her mom..."

"Why did you let her do that?!"

"Veronica, I'm not her keeper and neither are you. She's a grown woman and she can make her own choices."

The line went silent

Started back up quietly, "Ok... Just make sure she's ok."

"Ok Ronnie. I'll see you later."

"Sure." she said while simultaneously hanging up.

"Shit." I said to myself.

I tossed my phone into the driver's seat then turned on the radio.

As I laid back into the seat I slowly started to drift off.

A/n  It's 1:27 AM and I'm writing fanfiction.  I hope to get another chapter out soon, but as a said at the top my marketing teacher just dumped four large assignments on me with a due date ending in four days. Yum. ;)

Tell me if I messed up my grammar anywhere.  I tend to get sloppy when I'm really tired.
