Note: Sorry if this sucks, I'm tired tonight but want to get these reviews done. I promise I'll come back to them tomorrow and just change a few things to make it NOT sound like crap. Heh.

Title: Half Life: A Novel

Author: ShaynaLeigh

Genre: Romance/Teen Fiction

SummaryAfter Brynn’s sister was senselessly murdered – and her body inexplicably branded with a strange medieval crest – Brynn’s world shattered. In that one moment, Brynn lost her sister, her best friend, and her better half. And things only got worse when the police discovered, all too late, that Caleb McAllister – Brynn’s boyfriend’s older brother – was the person responsible. That was eleven months ago.

Since then, Brynn has picked up the pieces of her broken life and moved on. She’s changed her hair, her name, and her school. And she even has a new boyfriend – one who’s honest, and loyal, and safe. And everything that James McAllister wasn’t. But when James suddenly returns to Park Crest after an inexplicable eleven month absence and swears that his brother isn't to blame, Brynn must finally confront the truth about her sister and herself... And the boys who ruined both their lives.

 My view:

With a beautiful cover and interesting title - plus summary, this is an instant 'I want to read!' kind of book. A very dramatic, well-written and descriptive piece of work. I literally loved reading this.

I found the descriptions to be well crafted, the writing fluid and smooth - there was nothing unnatural or alien about the omniscient voices of this story (James&Brynn). This captivating high-school drama is only enchaned by the amazing character interactions, varying from all different emotions and situations.

The way the author writes makes me feel like I'm actually there on the side-lines, watching everything unfold. Everything being a whole load of amazing mystery, all of it leaving us as readers, wanting to know more and more about what exactly has been going on.

This literally was NOT cliche, despite being a teen fiction/romance story and I genuinely reccomend it to everyone out there to give it a chance. I have even added this to my library and will be checking in for further updates.

 Out of ten? Nine.
