My view:
Okay, so I tried to ignore the fact that this had one of the dweebs from One Direction in it. God, I just so intensely dislike boy bands. I’m not a ‘ohmygod I hate mainstream music!’ kind of person, but I just don’t like 1D. So, I won’t apology for my taste in music but instead go on.
The opening of the story flowed beautifully. I found that not only did I get a good, strong description of the boy that’s she’s lost and what he looks like, but I also found out some of his personality without the reader info-dumping and giving away everything about him. Save some for later! Best way to go.
Anyway, descriptions were beautiful and it was cleverly detailed in certain little ways.
The little interruption of ‘mommy’ was beautiful and tore perfectly at my heart, causing a small swell of sadness that this poor teenage has gone through and what she’ll have to do to go on.
Reading further, only one chapter, I found that the author kept up with her wonderful and touching descriptions.
