~ September ~

Your POV

"La da da, la da da
La da da da da da."

I strummed the last chord on my guitar, looking up at Mei. She beamed, clapping.

"That's gonna be so pretty, (N/N)! He's gonna love it!" she squealed.

I laughed, setting the guitar down. "I hope so. Now I just have to get Luka free so I can use his studio."

"Maybe try calling him soon? I'm sure he could make it available to you."

I nodded. "For sure."

"Is it just you singing it?" Mei asked.

"Yeah. Harmonies are gonna have to do for this. The words make it seem like I should sing with someone else, but I can't really sing with a guy that ain't John can I?"

Mei giggled. "You'll make it work. He's gonna love every second of it."

Sitting on my desk chair, I picked up my phone, dialing a number as I typed on my laptop.

"Hello?"

"Hey Luka!"

"(Y/N)! Hi! How are you?"

I laughed lightly. "I'm good, thanks! How are you? I heard your studio's been busy recently~!"

Luka laughed. "It's been busy for sure. So many talented people have come in. Speaking of, when are you getting over here?"

"That's why I called. I just finished 'Take The World' recently. I wanted to come in so we could record it."

"Yes! Awesome! Are you available this weekend?"

"I am! Saturday?"

"Let me just double check..." I heard a faint rustle of pages on Luka's end. "All clear! What time?"

I thought a moment. "Wellll, I'm supposed to be hanging with Teegan and Riley during the afternoon so... maybe like five?"

"Works for me. God, I'm so excited to see you and your song! It's been a while!"

I laughed. "For sure! When Cassie gets back from Italy, we're all hanging out again. Cassie wants to record something with me for her upcoming album anyways."

"Oh, that'll be great. I guess I'll see you on Saturday then!"

"Yeah. Bye Luk!"

"Bye (Y/N)!"

Click.

Thank God for Luka. He always made sure to save time for me when he could.

Glancing down at the calendar on my desk, I picked up the pen next to it.

Saturday
5 pm - studio w/ Luka

I circled it, setting the pen down. I turned back to my laptop, glancing through emails from people.

~ Saturday - 4:37 PM ~

I poked my head into John and I's room, seeing him typing on his laptop.

"Príncipe, I'm heading out."

John looked up, spinning the chair slightly to look at me. "Where to?"

"Luka's studio, remember?"

"Oh, right. Okay princesa, I'll be waiting for you."

I giggled, walking in and giving him a quick kiss. "I'll be back."

"Okay. Have fun."

I nodded, walking out of the room and hurrying down the stairs. Adjusting my sweater, I grabbed my bag, going out the door.

I finished playing Luka 'Take The World'. When I finished, he smiled, clapping.

"That's a beautiful song, (Y/N). He's gonna love it."

I laughed a bit. "That's what Mei said."

After some setting up, I found myself in the recording area with Luka behind the glass as he put his headphones on.

I put my own on, giving him a thumbs up to start the version I had recorded myself.

"We don't need calligraphy to write a fancy story.
Kings and Queens return to thieves to find what we've been holding.
You and me, we can take the world.

Oh, sweethearts give sweet compliments, but our love goes without saying.
Though you make it hard not to spill my heart, every time I see you swaying.
Darling, you and me, we can take the world, darling.

'Cause they can write stories, they can sing songs.
But they don't make fairy tales sweeter than ours.
They can climb mountains high into the sky.
But they can't take the world. Oh, like we can take the world.

Oh, I can see the future, you and me we last forever.
In the rising tide, no fear or fight that we can't face together.
Darling, you and me, we can take the world."

I looked up, holding my headphones as Luka smiled brightly and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled to myself and kept going.

"'Cause they can write stories, and they can sing songs.
But they don't make fairy tales sweeter than ours.
And they can climb mountains high into the sky.
But they can't take the world. Oh, like we can take the world, the world, the world.

Oh.
Ain't it just like love to find us? Ain't it just like love?
Ain't it just like love to find us? Ain't it just like love?
Ain't it just like love to find us? Ain't it just like love?

'Cause they can write stories, they can sing songs.
They don't make fairy tales sweeter than ours.
Oh, they can climb mountains high into the sky.
But they can't take the world.
Oh no, no.
Like we can take the world.

La da da, la da da.
La da da da da da."

The music faded out and I watched Luka hit the button to stop recording. He got up from his stool, taking his headphones off and entering the room. "That was awesome!"

I laughed, taking off my own headphones. "That's just the melody. I still have harmonies and sh*t to do."

Luka laughed as well. "Well, let's get a move on then, shall we?"

I nodded, lifting my headphones back up. "Let's do it."
