I was confused a moment, but then my eyes went back up to 'Proposing' and 'saying 'yes''. That's when it sank in.

Lafayette's POV

I was shocked. Well... maybe not entirely, but shocked none-the-less. It didn't take long for me to realize that had been the surprise John was talking about last night. So we had pretty much ran out of time.

"WHAT?!"

I nearly jumped out of my desk chair when I heard Alex shout. Getting out of my chair, I walked out of Herc and I's room and went over to Alex's office. I pushed open the slightly ajar door.

"Amour, why are you shouting?"

Alex turned, pointing to his laptop screen. "This!"

I walked closer to his desk, reading the screen.

Rising musician (Y/N) (L/N) and artist John Laurens CONFIRM their biggest step yet!

'Well... the media caught on fast..'

"Click on it!" I suggested, standing closer.

' It's hard to find someone now who hasn't heard of (L/N) or Laurens. After all, (L/N) is known across all platforms for her work, starting with 'Intertwined - EP' and now her most recent unreleased album (Yes, in this book Y/N is based off of dodie. Carry on). Meanwhile, Laurens is well-known for his talented art, usually his paintings.

It was confirmed by the two just a few hours ago after we sent an email regarding their posts. The newly engaged couple said they didn't have a date yet, but were hopeful things would be truly official by the end of next spring.

Both (L/N) and Laurens posted short yet sweet things about their engagement, (L/N)'s post making things a bit more clear via Instagram after Laurens posted his on Twitter.

(L/N) also told us the short break they took has finally got her up and writing again. "It was the just right amount of time, and just the right pretty moments," she wrote in her email, "and now I can finally start REALLY working on my newest project. There's so many fun little things that have yet to be disclosed, but all will be revealed shortly!"

What could (L/N), as well as Laurens, possibly be working on next? We have no idea, but we only wish the best for this blossoming couple. '

I looked up from the screen. "Merde..."

Alex sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. "We missed it! We had them, and we just let them escape!"

"Maybe... maybe it's a faux article. Sometimes online people do that. And you know John and (Y/N), they both like playing around with people."

"But why would they joke about getting engaged? It's the media and the fans want to see! That would be such a bad move!"

"The fans can take a 'it, mon amour. I've seen the comments. They 'ad to 'ave pulled something."

Your POV

John and I decided to go to the park. While on the way there, we had passed a couple fans of ours who said 'congratulations' and sweet little things like that. None of them were ever overwhelming, which was amazing.

"So the past twenty-four hours were all real?" I asked after a moment as we walked, my hand held in his.

John chuckled, lightly squeezing my hand. "It did, chickadee."

"I can't believe you asked," I muttered, looking at the sparkling ring.

"I can't believe you said yes," John responded.

"Y'know, the media has been going crazy about you two," a voice spoke up behind us.

Alexander.

We turned, finding the trio. I let go of John's hand, making him look at me confused until I wrapped my arm around his, making the ring visible in the sun.

"And y'know, you don't seem to be in your office anymore now that we're gone, Alexander," I replied briskly after a moment.

His eyes saddened a bit and I noticed all three pairs of dark eyes widen slightly after a beat. I looked up, seeing a light smirk on John's face.

"The media doesn't always lie, and nor do we," John spoke after a moment. "Just in case you were wondering."

I dropped my hand from around John's arm, feeling him grasp my hand again.

I smiled lightly. "It was a pleasure seeing you three again, but I think we should get going."

John and I went to start leaving when Alexander said a quick "wait!"

He sighed. "Congratulations. We're glad you're happy.."

Lafayette nodded. "Oui. Toutes nos félicitations." (Congratulations.)

I noticed Hercules had been silent the whole time, which was unlike the him I once knew. His dark eyes kept flickering between John and I and the ring.

I paused, slightly surprised by them. "Well... thank you. Merci, Lafayette."

I tugged John's hand lightly. "Let's go, príncipe.." I mumbled quietly.

We turned and walked away without another word, leaving three lost-looking men behind us.

Two things!

One, yes, (Y/N) is based off of dodie. Not all her songs will be dodie's, as that will be known in a bit, but many of her songs are from dodie. Also, I know her 'Human' album came out last month, and it's spring here, so change of events. But all credit where credit is due!

Two, when do you guys want to see the wedding? This story is still in its beginning, and I still have no idea how long it'll be or how long time skips will go. As of now, everything is usually from day-to-day.

My guess is the wedding will take place in the fall, and yes again... tea will be spilled at this wedding. I will probably do a time skip after a few more chapters, but what do you guys think? Lemme know!
