~ the next day ~

Your POV

For the first time since yesterday morning, I felt truly at peace. I wondered how much longer things could stay like this. It could change any day now, or maybe John was right: we could do this for the rest of our lives.

"Forever" wasn't something I had talked about with really any of the guys. We had originally wanted to wait until at least three years before we considered marriage, but... that clearly didn't work out so well.

On the brighter side, I realized that Tuesday would mark three years. Even with the three boys trying to get us back... things were looking up.

I sat with Mei in the local Starbucks. John said he had wanted to go shop for something ("It's part of the surprise you so desperately want to know about."), so I had decided to text Mei and my other friend Teegan.

After a moment, I heard the bell chime and found Teegan sliding into the little booth across from me to sit next to Mei.

"Hey Teegs!" I smiled.

She waved. "Hey (N/N), hey Mei."

I slid the third drink we had over to her. "Hope you don't mind, but we got what you said you liked."

"You shouldn't have; I could've paid for it!" Teegan replied.

Mei waved her hand. "It's fine! You've done quite a bit with us so it's only fair!"

"God bless you, Mei," Teegan muttered, making us laugh.

Teegan chuckled, taking a sip of her coffee. She looked at me after a beat. "So, ya boyfriend is planning something, ain't he now?"

I nodded. "And he won't tell me what! I have to wait until Saturday!"

"Oh no! A whole six days away!" Teegan exclaimed, making me reach forward and smack her arm. "Shut up Teegs!"

"I'm so excited for you though! John is so sweet to you!" Mei chirped.

Teegan nodded. "He really is. Y'know babe, if he didn't leave when everyone else did, I swear he's the one."

I shrugged, taking a sip of my (F/D). "I really did think he was gonna leave at first, but it's been nearly three months. I do hope he is 'the one' after all."

"He has to be. Like you said, it's been nearly three months, and from what you said, three years is also in a few days. I think if John truly wanted to leave, he would've already," Teegan replied.

"Besides, if he's planning a sweet surprise for you, that's good! It means he's thinking of you!" Mei added.

"You gals are right. Like usual. I don't know why I'd be worried."

Teegan laughed. "Because you just love him a lot, is all. It's normal, babe."

"Yeah. But what do you think the surprise is?!" Mei squealed.

I laughed, shrugging. "I don't know! It's John; it could be anything really."

"A dog maybe? Ooo! Maybe Yún can have a play-mate!" Mei responded. Yún was Mei's sister, Xia's, dog. He was a whiteish Shiba Inu who's name meant 'cloud' in Chinese. He was a total energetic lovebug.

"That would be pretty cool. I mean, we have a house rather than an apartment."

"I like to think of it as something sweet and romantic. Maybe a piece of jewelry or something? John would do that," Teegan added.

"You two are making me more excited! Stop!" I exclaimed, giggling. "Whatever it is, I know I'll like it."

"Ugh, stop being so cute," Teegan teased. "You're reminding me of the fact I'm still single. Since Mei over here has seemed to have found a boy of her own."

"You have Riley!" I responded. Riley was Teegan's sister. They were extremely close siblings, always doing things together.

"Besidessss, 'sisters before misters'," Mei teased.

"Says you, Mei. You're clearly attracted to Rowen," Teegan shot back with a laugh.

Mei blushed. "Shush! This is about (Y/N) anyways. We have to tag-team, Teegs, not tease each other."

I mocked hurt. "Ouch! Two of my closest friends!"

Mei took a sip of her tea, stifling giggles.

I laughed, taking a sip of my drink. "Well, we have enough time to kill before John texts me. Where to next, ladies?"

"(N/N)! Get over here!"

I stifled a laugh, walking over to Teegan. She pulled a dress off the rack.

"This would look so cute on you! Pair it with a sweater or something and boom! Cute spring fair outfit~!"

"This would look so cute on you! Pair it with a sweater or something and boom! Cute spring fair outfit~!"

I took the dress from her. "It is cute. I'm gonna try it on."

Teegan grinned. "Yes! And come out when you put it on! I want Mei to see it too!"

I laughed, walking towards the dressing rooms. After a few minutes, I slipped on the dress and exited the dressing room, seeing my two friends.

Mei clapped and Teegan beamed.

"That looks so cute on you, (Y/N)!" Mei cheered.

"Babe, get it! You better get it!" Teegan spoke, walking over.

I did a little twirl. "How could I not? This is too cute!"

Teegan clapped her hands together. "Good! Now let's get that dress and get outta here!"

"Príncipe? I'm back!"

"I'm upstairs, princesa!"

Holding onto my bag, I hurried up the stairs. I walked down the hall and pushed the ajar bedroom door open, just barely seeing John close the closet door.

He smiled when he saw me. "Hey princesa. How was your afternoon?"

I returned the smile. "It was good! Met with Teegs and Mei at Starbucks, then went shopping until you texted me saying you were home."

"What's in the bag then?"

I set it on my vanity. "Just a dress for Saturday."

"Can I see?" John asked.

I shot him a teasing smile. "Nope. Now you have a surprise to wait for."

"Aw man! Not cool!" he pouted.

I laughed, walking over and leaning up, giving him a quick kiss. "Now we both have something to wait for."

"I suppose we do. I suppose we do."
