Chapter 30 - You and I {Final Chapter}

I threw a twenty dollar bill at the driver and dashed out of the cab. "Hey - your change?" he called at me. "Keep the change!" I yelled back.

It was already 7 o'clock, the concert had already started, and Carlos, James, and Logan had been texting me nonstop every break they got. I ran as fast as I could to the front gate of the venue but stopped to lean against a tree. I wasn't going to get there running in these heels. I took them off and started running again. When I got to the entrance, nobody but a few girls who looked pretty sad were waiting outside.

"Ma'am, like I've been telling these other girls, we don't have tickets to sell. This concert sold out months ago." the security guard said to me, obviously tired of repeating himself. I pulled the pass out of my clutch and waved it in front of his face. "I really need to get inside. NOW." He nodded, looking shocked at how I'd asserted myself. "Go on in." he said, letting me pass through the wrought iron gate. "Thanks!" I called back, already making a mad dash to the door.

People were looking at me like I was crazy. And I could definitely understand why.

I stopped another security guard and asked, "Where can I get backstage?" He chuckled. "You don't get to go backstage." I showed him the pass and he stared at me for a while. "Okay, fine. You got me. I'll show you where." I followed him as he led me down the wing and tried to calm down. My heart was going at a million miles per hour and I was more than sure that if I didn't get it down to its normal pace, it would explode.

It seemed like hours had gone by when I finally saw the Backstage Entrance door.

"You missed the meet and greet photo by the way. And no, you can't take one after Big Time Rush finishes their concert. You should've gotten here earlier for that." he said to me. I waved him off. "That's fine."

I thrust the door open and weaved my way through the tech guys. I was about to panic, mostly because I was lost BACKSTAGE, when I saw Kelly. "Kelly!" I shouted. She turned around, looking a little shocked to see who had been calling her name. "Sam? What are you doing here? You left and -" I cut her off. "Kelly, I'm back. I'll explain later but right now, I need to know where the main stage is so I can talk to Kendall."

She nodded and grabbed my hand, leading me to where I needed to go. "They're about to start a song. You're going to have to wait until they're done." I nodded as she walked off.

I stood off on the side, leaning against the thick curtains that would soon close up the show. I could see Kendall, James, Carlos, and Logan sitting on their stools perfectly from where I was. All Kendall needed to do was turn around to see me.

Kendall reached to the side of his stool and picked up his guitar. He put the strap on and waved at the crowd. They went absolutely wild. Girls with "I love Kendall!" signs practically burst into tears. "I know you guys know this one. Sing along if you want." he said into the microphone. He strummed at his guitar and the opening to 'All Over Again' echoed throughout the venue.

Still got the same look that sets me off,

Tears on the verge of spilling over filled my eyes and I prayed that he had meant that song towards me. At that moment, James looked at me. His eyes got wide and he smiled. He nudged Kendall and pointed in my direction.

This was it.

Kendall looked over and stood up quicker than I thought humanly possible.

I couldn't tell if he was angry. I couldn't read his expression at all.

He walked towards me and stopped halfway. The crowd had gone silent, not understanding what was happening. I inched forward. I didn't know if my legs could carry me to meet him, but then I was standing right in front of him. I could feel his breath on my face and it was the most surreal feeling. I started to cry, not sure what was going to happen.

"Kendall, I -"

He put a finger to my lips and caressed my cheek.

"I'm sorry," he whispered as he stared into my eyes, "I'm so sorry."

I shook my head as the tears fell steadily down my cheeks. He wiped them away and bent down. His lips brushed against mine and the crowd went wild. Oohs and ahhs filled the room and I smiled. Our foreheads pressed together, Kendall grabbed my hand.

"I never stopped loving you. Ever." he breathed against my skin.

I pulled away, looking into his eyes. "I love you, with all my heart."

I could see the other boys off to the side, smiles wider than I'd ever seen.

Kendall took my necklace off and removed the ring from the chain.

He got down on one knee, the way he had that night on the cliff, and looked up at me.

"Samantha Garcia, will you marry me?"

I nodded my head, fresh tears falling.

He put the ring on my finger and picked me up in a hug as the crowd cheered us on.

I smiled and buried my head into his and let him hold me tight.

I was whole again.

All over again.
