We had spent the whole day at the beach, eating hot dogs, renting bikes, and running against the shoreline. Kendall and I had reached a new level of wonder that was almost to good to be true.

We walked back to his car as with the sky turning orange and pink.

As we got nearer and nearer to the Mustang, Kendall grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently. I looked up into his deep green eyes and couldn't help but blush as the moment I had craved so deeply came to light. Kendall smiled back at me and said, "Let's not go home just yet."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He gave me a mishevious grin and said, "Just trust me. Please?"

I giggled and squeezed his hand. "Kendall Knight, I trust you. Take me wherever you wanna go."

I let go of his hand and poked him in the stomach. "Race you to the car!" I yelled playfully.

"You're on Garcia!" He said as he took off running.

Neck in neck, I beat him to his car and did my own version of the happy dance. He laughed at my poor moves and swept me up into a deep embrace and swirled me around, just like in the movies.

With our faces so near to each other, I looked into his eyes and imagined such a beautiful future with him. Just as Kendall was about to kiss me in the most magical moment I had ever experienced, a flash of light went off. And another.

And another.

And another.

One way or another, the papparazzi had found us in the randomest time. Kendall put me down and grabbed my hand frantically. Together, we ran to his car and hopped in.

Cameras were at every angle. Kendall stepped on the pedal, blowing sand into every direction and leaving behind our harassers.

"Damn it! How did they find me?" Kendall said angrily as he ran his fingers through his hair. He took a long deep breath and I saw him shaking.

I reached over and touched his arm. "Kendall? Are you ok?"

He looked over at me, it seemed like he was waking up out of a trance. "What?...yeah, I'm fine." He tried to give me a smile but I knew he was nowhere used to having his privacy invaded in such a way.

He drove against the beach, passing hotels and people enjoying their summer. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if Kendall wasn't famous. As we got closer and closer to the Palmwoods, Kendall reached over and put his hand on my knee and gave me a smile. "I'm sorry I freaked out back there...I'm not used to the whole, "Hey! Kendall, you're famous!" "Kendall! Are you eating a chili dog!? Let me take your picture!" I laughed at his joke."Yeah, I get what you mean. Don't worry about it. It's not a big deal." He smiled at me and parked in the lot outside the Palmwoods. He got out and opened my car door for me and together we walked inside. The whole day had been a complete dream.

Little did I know that what was waiting for us behind the closed door of Apartment 2J would be a complete nightmare.
