"We're going to miss you so bad. I hope you'll find happiness without us." Braylee was close to tears as she bid goodbye to our room for the last 4 years.
Lumingon siya sa akin na para bang inuutusan akong magpaalam din.
"Th-thank you for being our shelter for the past years?" Sabi ko nalang. Yumakap naman si Braylee mula sa tagiliran ko at isinandal ang ulo sa balikat ko.
Pinagmasdan ko ang silid naming walang ibang laman kundi ang dalawa ang dalawa naming kama at walang lamang mga aparador. Lahat ng mga gamit namin ay nasa sasakyan na at bukas ay may iba na raw na uukupa sa kwartong ito.
I couldn't help but remember all of the happiness and hardships we felt while inside these four walls; I couldn't help but reminisce how good it is to be with my friends all the time and get through all the hardships together.
Napangiti ako nang mapansing nakadikit parin pala sa kisame ang mga glow-in-the dark stars ni Braylee.
"You don't want to take those down?" I couldn't help but ask.
"No..." Braylee shook her head as she pouted uncontrollably. "The new occupants might need some stars to brighten up their darkest nights."
"Too bad they don't have a Braylee." I joked.
"Too bad they don't have a Piper." She said and hugged me tighter. All of a sudden, she began to cry softly.
"Bray, don't cry! Maiiyak din ako." I laughed as I hugged her back but I couldn't help but tear up as well.
"I don't want to leave you guys but please be fine without me!" Braylee cried and I felt nothing but utter sadness in her words.
"Gaga! Magkikita pa naman tayo lagi!" I tried to pass it off as a joke as drops of tears made its way out of my eyes. "Basta, gaya ng usapan, kahit graduate na ta'yo, walang aalis sa GC. Kahit graduate na ta'yo, walang magbabago."
Braylee only nodded as she cried.
Braylee and I went out of the dorm while holding each others hands. And as we walked down the flight of stairs descending towards the sidewalk, we both couldn't help but smile as we saw Lucho, Warren, and Riley standing just outside a parked van that contains most of our stuff.
"Looks like this is really the end of our youth." Warren chuckled as he sat on his wheel chair.
"And I'm so happy to have spent it with you guys." Braylee pouted, trying to stop her tears from falling again. She looked at us one by one lovingly, like she was memorizing our faces.
