She waits by the pond
Every morning
Before schoolShe visits the library
Every lunch
Sneaking out of schoolWaiting for her mother
To appear and hug her
Like old timesShe visits the old antique shop
Every afternoon
Straight after schoolShe visits the same club
He mum used to go
Before dinnerBut she was never there
And she never appeared
And every time she realised
That she would never be the sameShe let a single tear out
And walked home
To where her father was
Struggling with life. She walked up to her room
At the end of every day
And stayed in there for hours
On endWaiting for the day
Her mum would
Jump out of the closet
And hold her closeBut it never happened.
