She waits by the pond
Every morning
Before school

She visits the library
Every lunch
Sneaking out of school

Waiting for her mother
To appear and hug her
Like old times

She visits the old antique shop
Every afternoon
Straight after school

She visits the same club
He mum used to go
Before dinner

But she was never there
And she never appeared
And every time she realised
That she would never be the same

She let a single tear out
And walked home
To where her father was
Struggling with life.

She walked up to her room
At the end of every day
And stayed in there for hours
On end

Waiting for the day
Her mum would
Jump out of the closet
And hold her close

But it never happened.
