Niall’s POV

Soon, we reached the hospital and as I walked inside, well ran, I began to think negatively and many less than favorable thoughts popped into my head.

What if she doesn’t make it?

What if the person who did this to her is going to try this again?

Were they trying to kill her, or make sure she didn’t remember?

Why didn’t I make sure she never got hurt like I promised?

I’d reached the desk by the Emergency Room, and the receptionist had yet to notice me standing there.

“Ahem” I cleared my throat,

The receptionist then looked up and her eyes went wide as if she had seen a ghost.

Damn, she’s a bloody fan. Just what I need right now.

“Erm, hi. Could you tell me what’s going on with Eloise Cooper, or what room she’s in?” I asked politely,

“I I-I She’s in the erm Operating Room right n-now. She-she’s getting her stomach pumped and a few t-tests done. She’ll b-be in r-room 401” She replied nervously,

“Thanks for all the help love” I smiled as I continued down the hall.

“395...”

“397...”

“399...”

“401...” Empty.

I decided to go in the room anyways, and sit and wait for Ellie. I wasn’t planning on leaving until I knew she was better anyways. I sat in the room and blankly stared at the tiled floor. It was a while before it seemed my brain woke up, and I began to process where I was, what I was waiting for, who I was waiting for, and what I had said to her. I began to hum a tune in my head, and I made some lyrics, ending up with a song,

“Sorrow last through this night

I'll take this piece of You

And hope for all eternity

For just one second I felt whole

As You flew right through me

And we kiss each other one more time

And sing this lie that's halfway mine

The sword is slicing through the question

So I won't be fooled by his angel light”

“Sorry to interrupt...” The doctor said as he knocked on the door,

“It’s fine, what’s going on?” I said, snapping back to reality,

“Well, we’ve pumped her stomach, she still hasn’t woken up yet. She should wake up within the next few hours. She’s breathing steadily, and she seems to be improving a lot. She needed a few stitches for the gash on her head, a besides a few bruises, she’s fine” He spoke while looking down at his clipboard,

“Anything else?” I asked curiously,

“As a matter of fact, yes there is. I’d like to inform you that Ms. Cooper ha-”

“PAGING DOCTOR TAYLOR! PAGING DOCTOR TAYLOR!”

“I’ve got to go, sorry!” He shouted as he ran out of the room, down the hall.

What was he just going to tell me? What’s wrong with Eloise?

My thoughts were soon interrupted by the nurse wheeling Eloise’s still lifeless body into the room. She still looked ill, but much better than she had when first arriving. The gash down her face was stitched up, and cleaned. Her skin looked less pale, but didn’t have it’s usual olive glow to it.
