I smiled back at him, and politely introduced myself to the boys,
“Hey, I’m Eloise and it’s great to meet you guys” I said awkwardly
“Nice to meet you too, though we’ve heard tons about you from Lou here already!” Harry replied as Louis turned bright red and laughed awkwardly.
“Aww, well isn’t that cute!” I said while laughing with the rest of the boys, before getting back to the topic,
“So, since you guys are a famous band do you still want to go around sightseeing or not? Cause the fan girls over here can get pretty crazy...” I questioned as they looked at each other and came up with an answer,
“I think maybe we should go tomorrow? We didn’t expect the crowds to be this bad...but we can go for lunch or something if you’d like” Niall replied,
“Hahaha Niall always hungry, but lunch would be a good alternative” Louis said,
“Yeah sure, ummm we can go to Stardust Café, it’s a really cool place, but it’s pretty crowded sometimes” I said back to them.
There was a chorus of “Yeah!”s, “Mmmm”s and “Great”s, and I lead the way as we walked through the crowded New York City streets. The boys seemed to group together in their own clans as we walked, and I was left alone in the front. I turned around to make sure they were still behind me, and as I did I received a smile from Harry, which I returned back to him.
Soon after I smiled back at Harry, I felt someone walk up next to me, and I turned my head to the side, unsure of who it would be. I was greeted by Harry’s adorable face, dimples and those green eyes.
“Hey! I couldn’t help but notice how lonely you were up here, so I figured I’d join you” he said excitedly.
I laughed, “Well I’m used to it, I can’t remember the last time someone said they’d join me so happily before”
“Well why’s that? You seem like a lovely girl, and I’ve only known you for 10 minutes, though it kinda seems like I’ve known you longer for some reason...” he said, shrugging at the end.
“I’m not too sure, I just don’t attract people well, no one seems to want to stick around...” I said as my mind drifted, trying to think of someone how has stayed with me; no one.
“Oh...” He said, looking down at his shoes, sort of like I disappointed him,
“Yeah, it’s alright! Nothing that special anyone’s missing out on. I’m worthless” I replied looking away,
“What makes you think that?” he asked, looking back up at me, with a confused look on his face,
“I’ve been told that multiple times, and it’s been proved by my own family, so I’ve come to believe it”
“Well I can tell you, that you’re not worthless. Anyone is lucky to spend time with you. How did your family prove that to you?” He questioned, after giving me a reassuring pat on the back.
As he finished his question we arrived at Stardust,
“Oops, looks like we’re here!” I said to him as I turned around to tell the rest of the boys,
“Hey boys, so we are here now...let’s go sit down!” I said as I walked through the door, since Harry had decided to hold it open for me and follow me inside.
As everyone gathered around the table the waitress had sat us at, I could tell that Louis was upset by something, what it was I had not a clue. Our waitress had come back with the menus and ordered our drinks, and when she left the table fell into a complete awkward silence. The restaurant was booming with energy and laughter, though our table was dead quiet. I looked up to see Niall, Liam and Zayn looking around the table, noticing the awkwardness also, and they caught my eye, I gave them a shrug as to say I had no idea what the problem was either.
Out of nowhere, Louis got up and stormed to the restroom, and Harry got up following him, leaving Niall, Zayn, Liam and I at the table alone. I spoke up first,
“So does this...usually happen?” I questioned,
“Not really, I don’t think I’ve seen Louis this off for a while” Liam replied,
“Yeah, something’s got to have him down” Niall replied with his accent showing,
“Harry’s probably gone to fix it though, they are best mates” Zayn chipped in,
“Oh, well alright then. How do you guys like the city so far?” I questioned,
“Well the buildings are really cool, but it all depends on how the food tastes” Niall blurted out first, causing us to roar with laughter. Just then we heard some shouting coming from the direction of the restrooms,
“HARRY I TOLD YOU HOW I FELT! I THOUGHT THAT WAS A BIG ENOUGH HINT FOR YOU TO STAY AWAY, BUT APPARENTLY YOU CAN’T SEEM TO GET THE IDEA THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL!” Louis shouted,
“IT’S FAIR GAME LOUIS, YOU HAVEN’T EVEN PROPERLY SPOKEN A WORD TO HER! IT’S MY FAULT THAT I ACTUALLY HAVE THE BALLS TO TALK TO A GIRL? HOW OLD ARE YOU FIVE?”
“YOU KNOW, YOU’RE BEING SUCH A DICK HARRY! YOU KNOW I LIKED HER, AND YOU STILL WENT FOR IT. YOU KNOW HOW I AM WITH GIRLS, AND YOU HAVE ONLY KNOWN HER FOR WHAT? TWENTY MINUTES? THANKS!” Louis retaliated,
“NOT MY PROBLEM IF YOU’RE TOO MUCH OF A PUSSY. WHATEVER LOUIS, JUST KNOW THAT SHE PROBABLY THINKS YOU DON’T LIKE HER, AS YOU’VE IGNORED HER THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME!!” Harry snapped, and he pushed Louis out of the way and into the bathroom.
Liam, Niall, Zayn and I all looked at each other with faces of complete shock, and were so confused as to what we had just witnessed. Louis and Harry had always appeared as best friends, even having a bromance, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen friends fight like that, let alone over a person...
Louis stood there for a moment and approached the table, still looking a bit upset. He reached the table and looked up, to see all of us with our mouths open, and he instantly realized why we were like that,
“You guys heard that?” he asked, looking quite embarrassed,
We all nodded in response, and he answered back,
“Oh.”
Everyone just looked back down at our menus, and Harry soon returned with a smile on his face. He looked around the table, and noticed that no one was talking. He glanced over to Liam, and mouthed if we had heard, and Liam just nodded. Harry then leant over to my ear and giggled,
“Nothing wrong with a little competition, right?”
