My head is a very dark place

***

P.O.V Maddie

'are you ready' Dylan asked.

The last days were the same. Marc, Nina and Dylan that constantly asking if I was okay and me constantly saying I was fine.

Today was Monday and I had to go school. Nina offered me to stay home but I felt fine and I had to go to school anyway.

'yes' I grabbed my bag that was in front of my feet

'wait' Dylan said when I opened the door

'what' I looked at him

'I'll be with you the whole day' he said looking straight in my eyes

'you don't have'

'I do, there will be weird shit going around and I just want you to be safe' to me this made no sense but I knew I couldn't change his mind. He is very determinant with these sorts of things.

'let's go in then' I said kind of awkwardly because Dylan was still staring into my eyes.

'yes of course' he blinked and got out of the car.

Naturally my head went down and we started to walk towards my locker.

'why do you keep your head down' Dylan asked when we reached my locker

'I kind of do it automatically' I scoffed and I grabbed my books

'okay' he looked around with a facial expression I've never seen. It was kind of worried, but also kind of bitchy, I can't figure it out.

'do we have to go to your locker' I asked when I closed mine

'yes' we started to walk and again I looked at all the feet. Some had fancy shoes on, others had boots but mostly has sneakers on.

Me also, me all stars. I got them from Nina a week after I moved in with them. Together with a lot of clothes. She said that I at least should have one good pair of shoes and enough clothes.

When we got to our class I sat down in the same spot and Dylan next to me.

'Dylan why are you so restless' I asked when again he looked around the classroom

'nothing I just' he looked at me 'I just don't want anyone to be mean to you'

'just calm down okay, I'll be fine and besides people can say what they want. As long as they don't hurt anyone it's okay right' I looked for eye contact

'right' he said when he gave me the eye contact

'so ladies and gentleman' the teacher came in and Dylan and I payed attention. Well I don't know if Dylan did but I did.

---

When it was lunch Dylan Offred to go outside. It was a nice day out. The sun was shining and the temperature was nice.

'Dylan Williams' a raspy voice said some what offending when we were outside.

'Jordan Summers' Dylan said and I looked up to Peter and Jorden standing with their arms crossed

'you're still with the lonely girl' he looked at me and I looked away

'keep your eyes off her' Dylan said and both peter and Jordan started to laugh

'I knew inside you where a pussy, I mean off all the hot chick in the school you choose the ugly homeless one' Jordan touched my hair and I stepped back

'get off of her' Dylan said and he slapped Jordan's hand

'what, sharing is caring right' Jordan set a step closer to me

'Jordan don't' Dylan said and I could hear that he got mad

'oh don't stop me, I mean you probably banged her already. now it's my turn' Jordan put his finger under my chin, he lifted it making me look into her eyes

'Jordan hands off' Dylan pulled him away from me

'what, you didn't bang her' Jordan laughed

'oh shut you pathetic mouth' Dylan narrowed his eyes

'my pathetic mouth, you the one who has been turning down girls for the last 2 months' Jordan pushed Dylan

'oh please, you should be happy I do. Otherwise you would never have fucked them' Dylan bit back

'oh I would, I can get any girl' Jordan defended himself

'no Jordan, you will always be second choice' Jordan punched his jaw after Dylan said this.

And then within a minute they were fighting.

'Dylan stop' I screamed at him.

Peter pulled Jordan away and another Gur puller Dylan away.

'Dylan look at me' I stood in front of Dylan while he still looked at Dylan with eyes filled with anger.

'look at me' I repeated myself and Dylan did what I asked.

'calm down' I grabbed his hand then the guy let him loose. His eyes slowly lost all of the anger and Dylan's breathing pattern turned back to the old one.

'I'm sorry' Dylan apologized

'it's okay' even though I didn't wanted the fight to happen what Jordan did was not, it was pretty scare to be honest. He came very close and the look in his eye was weird. like it was filled with revenge.

'no it's not, Jorden shouldn't touch somebody like that' Dylan looked at Jordan again, he was walking away.

'no he shouldn't but it happened. Now just sit down' he looked at me again and knotted.

When we sat down we started to eat

'Dylan' I asked 'why did you turn down girls for 2 months' I asked because I really wanted to know.

'because I wasn't in the mood' he was still looking at his food, this wasn't like him. He always always looks at me when we're talking.

'okay' I said some what disappointed.

Somewhere I hoped it would be because of me. But of course not. Why would he turn down girls for me, he doesn't like me. At least not in that way. He likes me as a friend, not as girlfriend material.

I'm not girlfriend material.

Not for him not for anyone.

I'm to complicated.
