Chapter 10- Maboteng Usapan

Gab's POV

Dahil wala ang ibang mga first batch as they called us, nilibang ko na lang ang sarili ko kasama si daddy at makipagkulitan kay Tito Kyle at Tito Ace.
Umiinom silang tatlo sa bahay ni Tito Ace.

"Huwag mong gagayahin si Marcus, Gab. Kung meron kang makikitang kakaiba sa result ng medical mo, go for second opinion." Tito Ace advised me. Nagtawanan silang tatlo.
"Gago, huwag mo ng ipaalala." Nailing si daddy. "Ikaw gago ka ang may kasalanan nun." Binatao ni daddy si Tito Kyle ng empty can ng beer.
Tawa ng tawa si Tito Kyle.
"Wala pa bang lumilitaw na ibang anak mo Marcus?" tanong ni Tito Kyle.
"Wala." Maikling sagot ko.
"Ano po kwento dun?" I asked them.
Sinimulang ikwento ni Tito Kyle ang nangyari sa kanila way back. How he changed daddy's medical result which dad's didn't went for second opinion. And it turns out he is not sterile at all dahil nabuntis si mama kay Ralph. The months and years they spent looking for dad's previous flings and if he has a child with them. At wala naman daw silang nakita na anak ni dad sa labas. The story is funny especially when mom throw a tape dispenser to him.

"I wish we can be there to help you Gab." Tito Ace sincerely told me.
"I will be fine." I replied.
"Ofcourse you will. It's not easy but you will be fine." Tito Kyle said.

"Have you talk to Cailee about that?" he asked after a while.
Umiling ako.
"Ayaw kong malaman niya. I may not coming back." I told Tito Kyle.
"Babalik ka pa bata. Akala mo lang hindi." Sagot nito.
"But still, I don't want her to know. She needs to live without me. She needs to grow without me."
Napayuko ako.

"Cailee is like a daughter to me Gab. Heck, pinangalan nga siya sa akin ng kapatid ko. I appreciate what you are trying to do to her." Tito Kyle tapped me at my knees.
"Pero yun lang ba talaga ang dahilan mo?"

Napatingin ako kay Tito Kyle.

"You may tell everyone a lie but you can't hide it from me. You are different from your real father Gab. Marcus did a great job molding you into a great guy." He tapped again my knees.

"Now I will leave it in there dahil baka hindi na makalabas ang daddy mo sa pintuan dahil sa laki ng ulo." He added.

Nagpatuloy sila sa kwentuhan ng mga karanasan nila sa military. And they told me how Tita Abby became part of their team. Naalala ko nga si Tita Abby na kasama ni Dad ng sinagip nila ako but I didn't know she was on military. All my life akala ko dentist siya na mahilig sa foreign language.

"Hindi nyo po namimiss ang hunting?" I asked them.
"Sometimes." Tito Ace replied. "Minsan nahihirapan na akong mag-stamp ng mga papel sa opisina."
Nagtawanan silang tatlo.
"I missed the adrenaline rush. But I don't miss the hallow feeling after." Tito Kyle replied.
"Hindi na kayang tumakbo ni Ace. Masakit na ang mga tuhod nyan." My dad joked.

Tapos nagtawanan na naman sila. At ikinuwento nila ang time na hinabol sila ni Tito Ace because they hide Tita Cheska. Ang kulit nilang tatlo. Tawa ako ng tawa.

Matagal tagal pa bago ako makakabalik. Or baka nga hindi na ako makabalik.

I will treasure this kind of moment...
