Happy Meal

No one's P.O.V

It's been 5 years since Tord broke up with Tom to move back to Norway for work. Tord deeply regretted it.

Sometimes he just let himself get caught up with work.

But now he's going back to England to visit his old newly married pals, Matt and Edd. Of course, he felt ashamed that he wasn't there on their wedding day but he promised he'd make it up to them when he gets back.

Edd's P.O.V

"EEEEEDDDDD!!" Matt suddenly embraces me from behind. I jolt up in surprise making some of the food I was preparing fly.

"TORD IS COMING BAAACCKK!!" He shouts happily, "What made you think I prepared foods for?" I remark as I snort. He froze, "oh yeah.."

"Dork." I say as I lean over to him and place a kiss on his lips. Just in time as the door bell rung. We both flinched then looked at each other excitedly.

Just how fast can he get here?!

We both raced to the door and swung it open. There stood a tall Norwegian wearing a red polo with a well tied black tie. He was holding one lounge and a case.

"Tord!!" Me and my husband shouted in unison and leapt at him causing his case and his lounge to fly off to the ground. We both were on top of Tord, "Jeez no need to kill me by squishing me." He says and laughs.

"We're so glad you're back!!" Matt exclaimed as he stands up and reach out his hands for me and Tord. Tord just stood up on his own while I just took his hand to stand.

"Hey, you still missed our marriage!" I say pointing at Tord while giving him a 'glare'. He raises his hands in surrender.

"Hey, I promised I'd make it up to you. Now I'm here." He says looking inside our house, "so where's... Tom?" He asks.

Tord's P.O.V

Edd scratchs his nape while looking a bit.. Down.

"Well.. He.. Uh.. He has better things to do.." He says wearing a frown. So.. I guess Tom just doesn't want to see me.. Well what did I expect? He'll just take me back so easily? I kinda hope for that to happen though...

Me and Matt decided to go to the movies to get Edd's frowned face off. After it we went to the arcade.. We were pretty much the only adults there. But damn it was fun. We were acting like teenagers again.

So now we're deciding on what shall we have for dinner.. We walked pass by a familiar restaurant. "McDaisy's"... Tom's favorite place to eat. All of our most cherished memoires are stored in...

I observed the place while clenching my teeth.. But when I saw someone familiar sitting by the clear glass window, I oddly felt eased.

"Is that.. Tom?" I mumbled as I try to get a better view of him from where I am standing. He was on his phone, looking bored as usual. He was wearing a blue long sleeved polo with a fancy checkered tie, black jeans and his checkered converse. He looks a bit.. Upset?

Just then a waiter came by and sat a tray with the 'Happy Meal' in front of Tom. I quickly turn to Matt and Edd. They were smiling at each other from afar. It seems like they're busy.. I didn't waste time and quickly walk to McDaisy's.

I made sure he doesn't see me as I order one of the 'Happy Meal' from the menu. I glance over to him a couple of times making this girl who had two hairs standing up that looked like horns and who was taking my order giggle genuinely,

"Is that your boyfriend over there?" She asked me as she pointed at Tom. I just stared and look at Tom who was slowly taking a bite of the meal's McChicken.

"No, I messed up and broke up with him because I got too caught up with my job. That was the worst decision I made in my entire life." I purposely made my voice loud for everyone including him to hear. Of course, all their heads shot at my direction.

The girl seemed to get the hint and played along, "so what do you wanna order, sir?" She asked. She already took my order earlier so I know she planned this.

"I want a 'Happy Meal'" I say making my voice louder,

"You seemed to be obsessed with this meal, why so?" She say as she also made her voice loud.

"Because.."

I turn to Tom and walk towards him, he flinched and he started shaking.. He dropped his phone on the table and covered his mouth.

"The 'Happy Meal' was the reason why we got the chance to get to know each other.."

I went closer to him and look directly at his beautiful 'eyes'

"How we got the chance to be friends... To lovers."

I feel everyone's stares.. Some were smiling and some looked like they were going to cry.

"How I hoped I could turn back the time and try it all again.." I finished as I stopped right in front of him. His eyes were now letting tears escape.

"So.. I will order the 'Happy Meal' again and hope I'll be able to rewind time." With that Tom jumped at where he was seated.

"Will you let me go back, Tom?" I laughed hugging him closer to me.

"Tord, why didn't you asked sooner.." He gives me a quick peck on my lips and everyone cheered in joy.

"excuse me.. Sir?" The girl with two horn like hairs asked, I quickly shake my head and glance at Tom.

Who was sitting now giggling and chatting with another guy. They shared a kiss together before continuing with their conversation and enjoying the 'Happy Meal' together.

So that's why Edd was a bit sad when I asked him where was Tom.

He already had plans for his new seemingly happy, sweet and caring boyfriend..

Meanwhile when he was with me.. I did nothing but work a lot. I soon stopped showing affection to him.. Of course, he felt unwanted.

It.. Wasn't real.... Afterall

"Nevermind.." I say as I turn back and went back to Edd and Matt.

Not even lying. This is my Uncle's story, it was with his first TRUE LOVE . He stayed single even now and he is not interested on dating a new woman.

I felt bad but it was his choice to keep on loving someone who was already out of his reach. Now he tends to balance work and affection.
