Lance sat up as the sound of sizzling bacon met his ears. "What time is it?" He rubbed his eyes and stood up.

"Lancey!" Rosie ran over and wrapped her arms around his legs. "G'morning."

He smiled and ruffled her hair. "Hey there, pumpkin."

"I'm not a pumpkin!" She giggled, "I'm a rose."

"That's, right. You're a beautiful flower." Lance smiled and started walking toward kitchen, Rosie sliding along behind him. "Morning, mamá."

His mother smiled, "Good morning." José was sitting at the table, eating two pancakes like a sandwich. His father was next to him, eating his pancakes properly like a responsible adult. Rosie let go of Lance and went to go finish eating her pancakes. There was only one missing.

"Where's Keith?"

Rosie giggled, mouth full of pancakes. "Sweeping."

"Oh, really?" Lance looked at the stairs. "I thought he would have been awake by now." He looked at the clock, which read 10:32 am. He turned and walked out of the kitchen.

"Bye Bye Lance!" Rosie yelled as he walked up the stairs.

The door to his room was slightly ajar, and he pushed it open. Keith was indeed still asleep, breathing quietly. He was turned toward the wall, his hair a complete mess that covered his face.

Lance snickered and walked over to the side of the bed. "Hey sleepyhead." Nothing. Keith remained asleep. "Hm..." His eyes fell on a book on the nightstand. The leather cover was kind of fancy, with a metal symbol woven into it and some sort of string criss-crossing over parts of it. "What the heck..." He flipped it open. "Whaaa..." His fingers traced lightly, so he wouldn't smudge it, over a line on the page. "Is this... me?" Lance laughed. "Man, I am good-looking."

Keith groaned at the noise and rolled over, squinting in the sunlight. "Lance?"

"Uhhh..." Lance stared back at him. "Hi?"

I'll put the good stuff in the next chapter
