Chapter Thirty Four: Tangled

"Don't touch that slice. It's mine." Lance spoke without taking his eyes off the screen. Seeing a human with a pan and a horse with a sword fight was quite interesting.

Keith moved his hand and pulled a plain slice out of the box. "I wouldn't want your gross pepperoni anyway."

"Excuse you, but I find pepperoni to be quite exquisite. Much better than your pineapple catastrophe." He finally turned away to look at Keith, both eyebrows raised. "Honestly, how would you eat that stuff?"

The Korean boy turned to look at Lance and leaned toward him, closing the space between them. He whispered, "I eat it because it's good, you uncultured peasant." His phone buzzed and he quickly went back to a normal sitting position, Lance completely out of his line of sight.

That was fortunate for Lance. The Cuban boy was covering his face with both hands to hide his furious blush. He seemed to be blushing a lot now that Keith was here... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Meanwhile, Keith was staring at his phone screen.

Unknown number: Hey Quiche

Unknown number: I miss you xx

Unknown number: [photo attached]

Unknown number: surprise :) it me

You: !!!

He smiled at the picture, a young teen girl with a stuffed hippo pillow that he'd been given many years ago. Keith added her to his contacts and gave her a nickname.

You: Mom let you get a phone??

Tyrannosaurus Lex: yeah

Tyrannosaurus Lex: are you gonna come by for my birthday this week ?

You: the usual afternoon pizza movie combo?

Tyrannosaurus Lex: we could do that too

Tyrannosaurus Lex: but

Tyrannosaurus Lex: laser tag with friends :3c

Tyrannosaurus Lex: Join me and lead my team to victory?

You: ...

You: sure

Tyrannosaurus Lex: and who are you staying with now?

You: [photo attached]

You: Lance

Tyrannosaurus Lex is typing

The typing bubble then disappeared.

You: ?

You: ???

You: Alexandrina what the heck are you up to??

Keith turned his phone off and saw Lance staring at him, no longer focused on the movie.

"Wow, you smiled. Who are you talking to?"

The Korean boy laughed, "Just my sis."

"Biological or...?"

He shrugged, "Foster."

"Ah, okay." Lance turned back to the movie.

Keith's phone buzzed once more.

Tyrannosaurus Lex: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Tyrannosaurus Lex: sorry I had to find the emoji

You: ...

You: I'll call you tomorrow cause you should be eating dinner and then going to bed

Tyrannosaurus Lex: It's not even 6:30!!!

You: It's 6:26

Tyrannosaurus Lex: Alright

Tyrannosaurus Lex: love you <3

You: love you too

You: go do your work you nugget

He put his phone back in his pocket and turned back to the movie. Eugene and Rapunzel had successfully not drowned. Keith leaned his head on Lance's shoulder.

At some point, Lance ended up leaning his head on Keith's. {Too bad Pidge wasn't there to photograph, am I right?}

About twenty minutes passed before the Lance's parents walked in, carrying the two youngest McClains. "Hey, sorry we're later today," María whispered. "These two exhausted themselves. Did you two have dinner?"

Lance nodded, "We had pizza."

"Well, you enjoy yourselves," she smiled and followed her husband up the stairs.

He nodded again, "We will."

After a few minutes of doors opening and closing, the house was silent again. Keith and Lance watched the movie, and yet, Lance still hadn't noticed that Keith was humming along to the songs.

Until the boat happened.

Keith stopped singing to watch the scene. Lance took his head off of him and stared.

Holy sh-t this is too much for my gay thoughts. Might as well go with it, right?

Lance turned looked down at Keith.

Damn, boi. Hitting them high notes I see.

Is this real or are the gay thoughts interrupting my dreams, Lance thought to himself as the two sang together.

"Now that I see you..."

Yes this was my plan all along hahahahaha... ha ha oh boy do you know what's coming nope not for sure anyway hahahaha I love having the power to control plot >:3c
