Chapter 15

The next day I jumped out of bed put on my favorite shirt and shorts. I curled my hair and put on some makeup. After classes I ran to the fro-yo cart and met with the leads in the musical.

"I'm SO excited!" I yelled as I approached. I saw Carter and shyly smiled and looked away. "Me too! I can't believe it's today!" Camy said. "I'm so excited to have ice powers!" We all laughed and got our fro-yo. "You guys want to practice?" I asked. Then Andy pulled me next to him and started singing my part in "love is an open door" and I started to sing. "All my life has been a series of doors in my face, and then suddenly I bump into you---" The he sang and stood up on the table "really? cause like, I've been searching all my life to find my own place..." He grabbed my hand and pulled me onto the table, and I screeched a little bit. "And maybe it's the party talking, or the chocolate fondue, but with you..." I started singing. "But with you, I see your face, and it's nothing like I've ever known before..." he pulled me close and we jumped to a different table. "Love is an open door..." We continued to sing and dance as I saw Carter's face turn red. We ended the song, and he said "Can I say something crazy? Will you marry me?" And I responded with, "Can I say something crazier?" And I slapped him in the face.

"I'm going to die." I said to Camy. "We can get through this, and don't be nervous, you're not going to die." She said to me. We were dressed in our first outfits, I was wearing a green summer dress, and she was wearing a

similar dress, but with a cape. "I mean, you have to sing a lot of duets, that means that you have half of a chance to mess up, right?" She said. "Yeah, I guess, but-" I was cut off when Carter approached. "Hey girls, can I talk to Lilly, alone?" he said and pulled me around a corner where we were the only people. "Lil', your going to be an amazing Anna, I know that you will rock the stage and I will still like you even if you mess up." He leaned in and kissed me on the forehead. "Carter, you are my favorite person ever, and I know that my parents will be a little disturbed that I'm going to kiss you, but I don't care what they say. And still we have our plan to follow through with." I said with a wink. We laughed and returned to the main hall, where everyone was in a panic because they couldn't find Mrs. T. "Guys, stop panicking, she will show up even if we have to start this musical on our own, we can do this!" I yelled and quieted down everyone there. "Just chill." I said, then joined the leads for a warm up.

"I can finally breathe out here! I was starting to suffocate." I said to the other leads. We laughed and continued to walk outside. We had to check into the musical 2 hours before the musical actually starts, then we have to reconvene 20 minutes before it starts. We had 30 minutes left.

We were walking around the school, singing our songs, reciting our lines, laughing, and fixing Camy's costume after she wanted to turn into Elsa the snow princess. We walked to the garden where Carter and Charlotte had their "date." We went to the stream and talked about our problems.

"I've self harmed, and I'm not proud." Jay said with an embarrassed frown. "Why would you do that?" I asked her. "Bullying, haters, and so on and so forth." She said as a Lilly pad floated down the stream. "I've done things I'm not proud about..." Camy said. "I don't want to talk about it..." She trailed off. "We better be getting back." Andy said, stood up, and helped me get up. And we all walked back to the music building.
