I take a look behind me and find myself looking into nothing but darkness. It's impossible to even see a figure if it were there. Am I losing it? Or is it trying to hint me?

After a full day of no results we decided to go home and try again tomorrow, but even though my body will get some rest I doubt my mind will. I've got an aching headache and I'm in desperate need of some sleep. The moment I come home I immediately walk towards my bedroom. It's past midnight and the lights are out which means my mother is already asleep. I throw my bag on the chair next to my bed and sit myself on the bed. A loud sigh escaping my mouth as I let my body fall down on the bed. I close my eyes for a moment, only to get disrupted by the sound of someone ticking against my window, which means someone is standing on the roof of the garage, but as I stand up and walk towards the window there's no one.

I open the window and lean forward, but there's no one there. The cold wind is brushing my hair into my face, leaving a trace of goosebumps on my arms. I take a step back and close the window, but before I can lock it, I notice the same figure standing outside my window, a bit further away from the house. I blink a few times, hoping it's not just an illusion. I immediately take a step back,  rushing over to the front door. I quickly text Lydia for back up if something were to go wrong, and grab my hoodie, pulling it over my head.

The moment I open the front door and look towards the spot where the figure was standing, it's gone once again. I push the top of the hoodie away from my forehead, clearing my sight while moving my shoulders and fixing its fit. I turn myself around, observing the area around me. I keep turning around, searching for the figure but I can't find it. I can't find him, so I run. I run towards the spot where he just stood, unsure of what to do. I'm standing on the road leading towards the city. Surrounded by trees. I can feel my frustration rising, unsure of what is going on and unsure of where he is, I release the tears inside my eyes. After a few seconds I come to the realization that what I'm doing right now it ridiculous. I wipe away the tear on my cheek and as I do so, I notice the figure, surrounded by trees. I keep my sight stuck on it, taking a step forward. As soon as I notice the figure starts to walk further into the woods I follow him. I push the leaves away from my face every time they brush against me, leaving drops of rain behind on my cheek. I start to move faster the moment I lose sight of the figure and as soon as I see him again I stop. "Wait. Please," I yell, hoping he'll hear me
...and he does.
