-5 Years Later-

I can't take this much more. Chris has become a complete monster. Around everyone else, he is still the same Chris I fell in love with so long ago. When it's just us, he's different. The abuse has gotten worse and worse over time, to the point I'm almost numb to it all. We ended up moving out of my dad's about 4 years ago and at that time, Chris had me stop working completely so nobody would question the bruises on me. I was too scared to say anything to him so I just agreed. He has cut me off from everyone over the years, keeping my visits with my dad and Kylie to very rare occasions. I had to stop seeing the other guys and even Dee. I only get to talk to her on occasions when he goes on tour. Lucky for me, they have another tour coming up in a week, meaning he will be away for awhile. He's not the man he was before and I hate it. All of it. It's not just me anymore. It's Riley too now. A few weeks ago, Riley got a bad mark in school and Chris went off and beat him, leaving a bruise on his arm and on his bottom. That day, my heart completely shattered when I saw my little boy so broken and scared. Since that day, he won't go near Chris. He won't even call him dad anymore. I honestly don't blame him. I've been slowly stealing money from Chris, hiding it in a space below the boards in Riley's room, where his bed covers it so there is no way for it to be found. I almost have enough to get away and when I do, I'm packing up as taking Riley. He deserves better than this.

"Momma." I heard my angel's shakes voice as I stood in the kitchen, staring out the window silently. I quickly wiped my eyes as I turned and knelt down to my son. "Yea, sweetie?" I asked, my voice hoarse. "How much longer?" He asked in a small voice. I knew what he meant. "6 days, baby. Just 6 more days." I sighed. He nodded, his hands visibly shaking. I held his little hands in mine and brought them up to my lips, kissing them softly. "It's going to be ok. I promise." I whispered as I heard Chris' boots trekking down the stairs. Riley's eyes filled with fear as he ran and hid behind me, latching onto my hand. I stood up just before Chris appeared in the doorway with an unreadable expression. "We need to talk." He said and I looked down, nodding slightly. "There has been a change of plans. The guys and I have a show in Pennsylvania in a couple days so we will be leaving in the morning instead of next week." He said and I held in a sigh of relief as I looked up at him and nodded. "So, I need you to go upstairs and pack my bags. Rick is coming by in an hour or so to get me and everyone is crashing at his place tonight and the bus is picking us up there in the morning." He said and I nodded. "Well, go on and hurry the fuck up." He snapped after I didn't move. I nodded again and rushed out the kitchen, Riley following right behind me up to the room. "Baby, go in your room and lock the door, ok? I'll get you when it's time to say bye." I told him and he nodded, his anxiety showing through. I leant down and kissed his forehead before he ran to his room and closed the door. I grabbed Chris' bags from the top of the closet and packed them as quick as possible before I went to the bathroom and did my makeup, making sure to thoroughly cover the bruising on my face, neck, chest, and arms. I then changed into a pair of black skinny jeans with no holes or rips in them, a tank top, my Attila 'slime' hoodie, and a pair of black converse before I put my hair in a messy bun. I checked myself in the mirror before I hauled Chris' bags downstairs 2 at a time, finishing up just as Vinny knocked on the door. I opened it for him and forced a smile as he hugged me. "Long time no see! How've you been?" He asked as he pulled away. I bit my lip to keep from crying stage pain rushing through my body from his right embrace. "Uh, I'm great! Yea, you?" I asked, mentally wincing at the way my voice cracked and shook. He furrowed his eyebrows at me. "You sure? You don't really seem ok." He said as Chris appeared from the kitchen with a smile that slowly left as he heard Vinny's words. "Vin, can you take my bags to the car?" He asked and Vinny looked at me again before he nodded and grabbed 2 of Chris' bags. As he went outside, Chris closed the door and pulled me to him, slapping me hard. "What the fuck did you say to him?" He asked, anger seeping into his words. I winced and let out a yelp as my head flung to the side, fears pricking my eyes. "Nothing!" I said truthfully, earning another slap. "You fucking said or did something or he wouldn't have asked!" He yelled. I shrunk in his grasp as his grip on my arm tightened. "I didn't!" I told him and he growled, slamming my against the door, making my hold back a sob. "Do I have to fucking teach you a lesson before I go?" He seethed, his breath fanning across my face. I shook my head and he slammed me into the door again. "I think I do." He growled. "Basement. Now. I'll be there in a minute." He barked and released me. I moved around him carefully and quickly went into the basement, sobbing.

*Vinny's POV*

I heard yelling and quickly went to go back inside. As I reached the door, there was a loud bang against it as it shook. I listened carefully at the yelling on the other side, my eyes going wide. "I think I do. Basement. Now. I'll be there in a minute." Was the last thing I heard before running. I waited a moment, taking the time to collect myself before I opened the door only see Chris. "I'm going to say bye to Hayden if that's ok. It may take a little bit." He said, a smirk on his face. Usually I would have thought he meant it sexually but now I had a feeling it was something worse. He just sounded so cruel a moment ago and now he is acting like his usual self. Something isn't right.
