Chapter 16

 I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling and thinking about the text.

 I could never tell Luke, I cant let anything happen to him.

 I looked over to him laying next to me.

He was asleep and he looked peaceful.

He moved in his sleep and wrapped his arm around me and pulling my body close.

I smiled and a tear escaped my eye.

What do I do?

My eyes opened to the blinding light of the sun..

"G'mornin beautiful." Luke grumbled next to me.

"Morning." I smiled and pecked him on the lips.

"What do you want to do today?" He asked and sat up.

"Shit! I have to go to work today!" I yelled and rushed to get ready while Luke chuckled

"Luke turn around while I change!" I pleaded him, but he shook his head.

"Sorry babe. You either change I front of me or get to work late." He smirked.

"Luuke!"

"Your choice babe."

"Ugh."

I quickly took my shirt off and slid another one on.

When I had changed, I turned around to se Luke with his mouth hanging wide open.

"Luke?" I called and he blinked a few times before answering with a "Yeah?"

"Will you take me to work please?"

He nodded and grabbed his keys from the side table and led me out the door.

The car ride to work was about 10 minutes away and was filled with a peaceful silence.

I unbuckled my seatbelt when we pulled in and leaned to get out when Luke's arm pulled me back.

"Don't I get a kiss first?" He said and jutted out his bottom lip.

I giggled and my lips met his, lingering a little.

"I love you and I'll miss you." He said.

"I love you." I answered and smiled back at him, getting out of the car.

"Call me if anything happens."

I nodded and walked into the front doors of the shop.

I was greeted by Sarah, she worked at the cash register.

"Emilee! Long time no see!" She called.

I smiled back at her. She was always so kind to everybody.

"Yeah I guess." I laughed and attended to the customer who had just walked in.

I had been working for 2 hours and I'm already bored out of my mind.

I pulled out my phone and saw that I had 3 new messages from Luke.

Miss you already Em :(

Are you okay? You haven't answered.

Emilee?!

I rolled my eyes.

He was so protective.

I texted back.

Hey! I miss you too :( Sorry I didn't see the texts until now.

His answer was almost instant.

Its okay babe. You almost off work?

Yeah. Can you come pick me up?

Sure. Be there in 15 minutes, Love you Em.

Love you too. See you then.

I put my phone down and looked around the room for more customers.

The only people I could see were Sarah and Noah.

Noah was the manager for the store and has been a hige dick from the day I started.

He walked over to me once he realized I was looking at him.

"What are you looking at babe?" He asked, looking me up and down.

"Nothing." I answered simply, not meeting his lingering eyes.

"What? Are you afraid of me? You shouldn't be... I could make you happy Emilee... jus"

He was interrupted by Luke walking the door.

"Luke!" I half yelled, and ran over to him.

I pulled him into a hug, and he wrapped his arms around me, but is eyes were focused on the tall, brunette boy with gazing green eyes who I call Noah.

"Give me a second Em, go wait on the car."

He let go of me and walked over to Noah.

I didn't listen and stayed to listen to the conversation between them.

Luke got close to Noah and pulled the collar of his shirt in his fist, but I couldn't hear a word he was saying to the struggling guy in his grasp.

And just as quickly as he walked over there, Luke was back at my side escorting me to his car.
