Chapter 18: An Apology & kisses

Holly’s POV

He was quiet. Maybe a little too quiet. I couldn’t help but finally realize as he park his car on his usual spot the next morning. I turned to looked at him and he was staring out in the distance.

“Blake...” I whispered to him.

He turned his head to face me.

“Are you okay?”

He nodded, “Yeah, just thinking actually.”

“About?” I asked with smile curiously

He smile back as he lay his back on the headrest of the driver seat, “A good way to apologize, I guess.”

I found myself frowning at that. Why did he wanted to apologize for? I couldn’t help but wonder.

“About?”

“Yesterday, I tried to kiss you.”

“Yeah, I know...I was there.” I said tried to joke about it to make him laugh since he was so quiet and so serious which it work because he laugh a little.

“What I mean is that we are friends and I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” He said with sheepish grin that made me reached out and hug him which he was happy to return. Then I pulled back a little but still manage to stay close to him, I reached out and touch the side of his face caressing his cheeks with my fingertips. He smile at that like the Blake I knew then leaned forward and contact his forehead against mine.

“So you are not mad? I mean me trying to kiss you.” He said staring at me with a shy expression that I never knew he had and that made me smile.

“No.” I admitted honestly because part of me was right. I didn’t mind at all but something always seem to hold me back.

“Really.” He said with a happy smile then he bit his lower lip then hesitating a little bit he leaned forward me and sweetly touched his lips with mine then pulled back. “Sorry....again.”

“It’s okay.” I said feeling myself blushing.

He chuckle a little then said in his most honest tone that I have become to known while putting up his left hand, “I promise it won’t happen again.”

I reached out and took a hold of his hand in mine then leaned forward and touched his lips swiftly against mine then pulled back just like he did which cause him to smile.

“So we are even now.” I said nervously as I feel my cheeks heat up even more then step out of the car and stop halfway through the parking lot when I realize that he wasn’t following like usual. I turned around and found him stepping out the car and his eyes locked with mine even through the massive crowd and the distance between us. He wink at me then started to walked to me when a group of girls step into his way to talk to him.

“Hey Holly.” Austin’s voice said pulling my gaze from Blake talking to the girls to him who was walking toward me as he close the door of his car which was a white BMW.
