Apple and Pear Crumble

Ingredients: Apple and Pear

3 medium apples (450g)

3 medium pears (690g)

¼ cup caster sugar

¼ water

Crumble Topping:

½ cup ground almonds

1/3 cup rice flour

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

60g butter, chopped

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Cooks Tools:

Measuring cups/spoon

Ovenproof dish

Peeler

Cutting board

Knife

Corer

Large saucepan

Sieve

Blender

Step 1: Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan forced. Grease deep 1.5 litre (6-cup) ovenproof dish.

Step 2: Peel, core and quarter apples and pears; slice fruit thickly. Combine fruit, sugar and the water in large saucepan; cook, covered, about 10 minutes or until fruit is just tender. Drain; discard liquid.

Step 3: Meanwhile, make crumble topping. Blend or process ingredients until combined.

Step 4: Place apple mixture in dish; sprinkle with topping. Bake crumble about 25 minutes.
