I have stopped putting up walls,

Waiting for someone to take them down.

I don't need someone else to know me,

Because the only one that really needs to know,

Is the one I see staring back at me in the mirror.

It's not who I was,

It's not who I will be,

Or what the world sees.

The person,

I don't even know,

Inside and out,

I see.

How can I love when,

I don't know,

Who's giving it?

How can I hope when,

Honestly,

I don't know,

What light I am hoping for.

I stopped putting up walls,

Waiting for someone to take them down.

I'm the one taking to this castle down.

That lovely, homely place.

That I don't need anymore.

Because I don't know who to look after.
