Chapter 25

Sid’s POV

This was actually happening right now. I just stared at the man below me. Did I want this? I mean yes, I loved him but was this man for me? I wanted to say yes but something inside me said otherwise. Drew’s smile was slowly disappearing as he realized that I wasn’t saying anything. Without thinking, the word “yes” flew out of my mouth. Cheers began erupting from the crowd as Drew grab me and began spinning me in a circle. I managed to create a smile on my face as we both twirled. I was happy with him so maybe I should give this loving guy a chance. Drew placed his nose against mine and that’s when a genuine smile slipped on my face.

“Yes, I want to marry you,” I whispered to him and began crying as I held on to him tightly. Drew hugged me just as tight. It was like we didn’t want to be separated. Our love was strong; I know we can get through this. I know we will be with each other until the end.

Our friends began circling around us while cheering loudly and clapping. I could see my grandparents smiling at us with happiness. I wish mother was here so she could share my happiness. Drew placed his lips on my neck and wrapped his muscular arm around me. I had to admit Drew did pull me out of my depression. He was the bright light in my gloomy, dark world. I wanted to thank him for so much. I wanted thank him for loving me the way I am.

“I can’t believe baby girl is getting hitched!” grandpa exclaimed before wrapping his arms around us both. Drew and I both smiled at him and at each other. We couldn’t believe it either.

The rest of the night, everyone kept congratulating us and applauding us. The whole night, Drew and I stuck to each other like glue. We either slow danced with each other or just held each other. I felt at peace whenever I was with him. The party was now over, everyone began leaving and thanked grandma for letting them come to this amazing party.  My friends began leaving also, they especially had to go now that Kelvin was drunk. He kept trying to hit on married women. It was pretty funny when he hit on one of my grandma’s old friends. She slapped the shit outta him.

I yawned loudly as I marched up to my bedroom. My bed was definitely calling my name right now. I threw myself on the soft bed and fell into my dreams.

My alarm began ringing causing me to sputter some curse words and slam my fist on the annoying box. I threw my hair in a bun and grabbed my phone. I had few messages from my friends and from one unknown number. I rubbed my tired eyes as I opened the unknown number’s message.

“Is this Sid?”

Normally, I was the person who never called or texted back to people I didn’t know. But for some reason ,I texted the word “yes” and asked who this was. I sighed and threw my phone on my bed before going to my bathroom. Humming one of my favorite songs, I started to brush my teeth and then spat in my sink. That’s when the ring on my finger caught my eye. I brought the ring closer to my face. It sure was beautiful but there was strange feeling in my stomach about this whole situation. My eyes flickered up to the mirror in front of me.

“Do I want to marry him?” I whispered asking myself in the mirror. For some reason, I wanted the mirror to answer me because I sure as hell wasn’t sure. The sudden beep from my phone caught my attention. I sighed and went back to my room to retrieve my iPhone. It was the unknown number. I bit my lip and opened the message.

“It’s Callum J”

A smile appeared on my lips as a rush of memories came back. A picture of his face played in my head. He’s such a good guy as I remembered what he and his aunt did for me. I actually still go his aunt whenever I can. She’s always there for me whenever I need her.

“Hey! I miss you! How did you get my number?” I texted back before placing my phone on the bed and went back to the bathroom. I grinned as I thought about Callum. He was my first friend and I owed him so much. I took a quick shower and washed my hair with the lavender shampoo that granny got me last week. I quickly changed into a pair of jeans and a comfy sweatshirt. I did my makeup and pulled my wet hair in a ponytail. I’m not going anywhere today so whatever.

I strolled back into my room and grabbed my phone to see a text from Callum. I smiled and opened his message. I started walking out of my room as I read his text quietly to myself.

“I miss you too! So how are you?”

I answered back telling him about Drew and how happy I was. As I got down the stairs, I noticed a bunch of people in the living room. That’s when I stopped grandma pacing back and forth with two ladies next to her. Both ladies had notepads and listening to granny rambling. I decided to cut in to know what hell was going on.

“Granny?” I called causing everyone to stop talking.

“SID! Darling! You’re up!” she exclaimed before giving me a hug and a bright smile. The two ladies bowed and smiled politely to me. I smiled awkwardly and looked at granny.

“What’s going on here?” I asked while looking around. There were at least seven people here. Some were arguing with each other and some were looking a giant piece of paper.

“We’re planning your wedding!” she said as she called some guy in the back and called him over to us.

“Already?” I asked.

“Yes! Well, the wedding is next week.” Screeched granny.
