Chapter 12: The Best I’ve Ever Known.

POV: Carson.

I whipped past cars, on our way to town. It felt amazing, being on my bike with my girl. I smiled to myself as I thought about it. She was mine, forever. I knew that when my dad got back I would have to go back to business, trying to catch Tony. Until then, I would enjoy every second with her. I stopped in front of a clothing shop. I thought I would take her into town and buy her some things. Make her feel as special as she made me feel. I parked the bike and got off. I held out my hand to help her down. She gasped  ripping her helmet off and pulled me the opposite way of the clothing store.

“Uh Riley, where are you going?” I asked.

She tried to pull me but I stood strong. She pulled harder walking in place. I chuckled at how cute she was.

“Please Carson, there is a vintage store over there!!” She pouted.

I smiled and pulled her into me.

“Is that where you want to go?” I asked.

She nodded and pouted like a child. I pecked her lips.

“Then so be it. It is YOUR day.” I said winking.

She grinned and ran toward the store. A car swerved and slammed on the brakes honking. I pulled Riley back and waved the car on. I looked at Riley sternly. She blushed.

“Sorry..” She started.

I hugged her to me.

“Just be careful, I don’t ever want anything to happen to you.” I said.

She sighed.

I took her hand and walked with her across the street. We reached the store and she opened the door. I store smelled like dust and old things. I raised my eye brow.

“Are you sure you want to shop here?” I asked.

She nodded excitedly and looked around. I looked around and found a show case of jewelry. A diamond ring caught my eye. It was perfect. Elegant and beautiful, just like Riley. It had a large oval diamond in the middle, then two boarding rows of diamonds. The band was crested with more diamonds.

I looked at the old man working behind the counter.

“How much for the ring?” I asked.

He smiled and looked over at Riley.

“She is a beauty isn’t she?” the old man asked looking at the ring.

I looked over my shoulder at Riley, she was looking at some random items on a shelf.

“She is.” I said.

He smiled.

“Is it for the lass?” He asked.

I smiled and nodded.

“Then take it.” He said pulling out the ring.

I was shocked.

“No, I couldn’t!” I said.

He smiled.

“No please. It was my wife’s she died a year ago. I would never have the heart to sale it. Your lass look a lot like her. I would be pleased for her to take it.” He said putting the ring in a black velvet box.

I nodded. I slipped the ring in my pocket. He smiled as Riley came up to my side. She gasped.

“Oh look at that necklace, it is just too beautiful!!!’ She said pointing to a pearl necklace.
