I promised double updates when I got back.

I really wish I could carry through with that, however I don’t want to write when I’m unhappy and so whether or not I’ll be posting a chapter today and actually finishing it without getting frustrated is unknown to me, let alone two chapters.

I was so happy when I got back to Texas because I has such lovely comments on my message board and tons and tons of lovely comments in my inbox as well, but then I decided to go read the comments on my latest chapter.

The majority of the comments were nice and even though some people did have complaints, they complained kindly.

There were, however, a few comments that I didn’t like. I’m not naming names because the last thing I want to do is embarrass you or send people running after you with javelins or anything of that sort.

It’s really disrespectful to tell an author to write how YOU want them to. I’ve noticed an issue especially with the existence of accents in the dialogue I write for my characters. Some people have requested I stop doing that and I get that it can be hard to read sometimes, but it’s the way I choose to write. J.K. Rowling did it in Harry Potter in the second book. I’m not mad if you requested me to stop. I’m mad in the way some people have asked. Again, it hasn’t been a lot of comments and most of you are so lovely!

Not only has it made me mad, but it’s really hurt my feelings.

I used to look at how some other authors would talk to their fans on Wattpad and I’d be like, “How the hell can they talk to their fans that way? Their fans should mean everything!” You lot really do mean everything because without you all, Eponine, Fae, and Sammi would all turn to dust. They exist because you want them to. But I understand how some authors feel when they post those messages now.

The last thing I want is to make you all feel guilty or feel like I’m being mean, because I’m not trying to be!

This is almost off topic, but now that I think about it, if anything I’m glad some of you have chosen to be disrespectful to me as opposed to another author. No author should feel how I’m feeling right now. They shouldn’t feel pressured to write when YOU want them to or HOW you want them to.

I don’t mind people asking for updates! I’m not sure why some authors find it annoying (I guess it’s when people ask for an update and only an update instead of saying anything about the book), and I don’t mind criticism or suggestions either! But it does again hurt me when you complain about something that really doesn’t have to do with the book itself, but the way I choose to write the book.

Please before posting comments to any story, not just mine, think about how the author will feel before reading them. I DO read your comments. Most of them make me super chuffed! But if your comment’s only about something for your benefit whilst reading and it DOES NOT seem very friendly, at least rephrase it to where it can’t be mistaken for a rude comment.

(in response to two comments: omg i think i did forget about zayn oops and hahahahaha Mel B whoops and now i’ve lost my point)

I was about to write a chapter, but with the fact my butt is in a lot of pain because of what makes you bootyful and how writing this whole thing has spoiled my mood, I’ll try again later.

I’m very disappointed and hurt, but I know most of you were really sweet and I’m sorry for the delay babas! :(

I love you Mixie Mouses. (and as always, sorry for typos) xx

P.S. I deleted the comments I found offensive!

also, please, please, please go read my other fanfics birthday and creatures of the night and maybe comment and vote if you're feeling extra nice? thank you!
