I started to sprint on the hard, cold, dark pavement. My feet started to ache in my large high top converse. I wanted to run faster. No, I NEEDED to run faster.

She needed me. They all needed me. My friends needed me. We came here alone, finally as adults. This can't be happening. I need them. They've helped me through everything. When suddenly, my phone rang.

I picked up as fast as possible and started to blubber into the phone, "Jesus, Destiny. You scared the shit out of me you can't just mess around like that.--" I was cut off by an unfamiliar voice, a man's voice. "Shut your mouth, and listen closely," I immediately pressed my lips together and tighting shut my eyes as hard asI possibly could to keep the tears from rolling out without invitation.

"Alright, kid. Listen up. You know what's going on. You know I have them. Every. Single. One. Of your prissy little friends. And you can't imagine the things i'm going to do to each of them," many tears started to fall down my cheeks, I started to sob.

"Please, no. Take me. Let them go. Ill give you anything you want,"

I couldn't help but begin to panick. I started to hyperventilate and pace back and forth, cursing at myself for.escaping from their reach. Just because I wanted to adventure. Gosh, everything is my fault.

I can't let him hurt my friends. They're everything. They've been everything since my parents passed away in a car accident 2 years ago.

"And don't bother trying to help them, my beautiful girl, if you tell anyone, I can and will kill everyone and anyone you love. And don't worry.... You'll be with me soon. Just remember, you can run, but you can't hide, princess, let the torture begin"

I heard my best friends very familiar scream in the background.

The phone call was over. I looked at the screen for a moment and suddenly, my entire world tumbled down.

I fell to the ground, putting my face in my hands, screaming at the top of.my lungs.

Screaming in the agonizing pain of knowing I couldn't help. They would die.

And so would I.
