Months ago...

Hindi ineexpect ni Apa na pupunta siya sa welcome party, pero lalong hindi ineexpect na Ags na sa orphanage gaganapin ang welcome party ni Apa. They were both shocked.

Inakbayan ni Apa si Ags. "You came."

"I did. Ohhh. Yes. I did." Mukhang hindi pa rin nagsi-sink in sa kanya na nasa welcome party siya ni Apa. "Wait, dito welcome party mo?" Her eyes widened. "I should have known. You're Apa. Of course, you'd celebrate here."

Tawang tawa si Apa sa reaction ni Ags. Hindi rin niya kayang i-tanggi na natuwa siya sa pag dating ni Ags. Kahit boss kasi siya nito at magkasama sa isang department, mag-uusap lang sila pag kailangan.

As much as Apa wanted to talk to Ags, he must stop himself from doing so before he let himself be drawn to her again. He couldn't stop thinking about her already. How much more if they started talking again like they used to?

"Bro, baka malusaw." Umupo si Bri sa tabi ni Apa na nakatingin na rin kay Ags na masayang naglalaro kasama ang mga bata. Her laughter... Her actions... Her every move... Her everything could make Apa feel everything he didn't want to feel. "Mahal mo pa?"

"Secret," sagot niya sa kaibigan.

"Bro, tayo-tayo pa ba maglolokohan? Obvious na obvious naman." Tumawa si Bri. "Kamusta si Liz?"

Umiwas ng tingin si Apa kay Ags pagkarinig niya sa pangalan ni Liz. "Not good." Her grandfather was sick and she was left alone in Canada. He was the only one she had. Only one.

"How's Ags?" Tanong ni Bri kahit mas alam pa niya ang sagot sa tanong niya.

He grinned. "She looks happy."

Bri stood up and tapped Apa's back. "Kung alam mo lang." He shook his head and walked toward his girlfriend who was busy talking with their friends, while eating. Pasaway talaga si Joyce, but it never made him love her less.

Gabi na sila natapos dahil sa pagliligpit ng mga gamit at basura. Napansin ni Apa na mag-isa lang si Ags na uuwi at magdadrive. Alam niyang hindi papayag si Ags kaya bago siya magpaalam na sasabayan niya ito, sumakay na siya agad sa shotgun seat.

"Ba't wala boyfriend mo? Akala ko, sabay kayong pupunta." No, he thought they wouldn't come. Curious lang talaga siya kung sila pa dahil hindi niya sila nakikitang magkasama.

"Malay ko. Ba't sa'kin mo tinatanong?" Sila pa nga. He was so mad at Ygona. How could he let his girlfriend drive alone? Delikado na pa naman ngayon. Gabi na rin. Paano kung wala siya? Baka kung ano na ang nangyari kay Ags. "Wait, sinong boyfriend?"

Naguluhan siya sa tanong ni Ags. Bakit niya tinatanong kung sino boyfriend niya? "Si Ygona. Kayo, 'di ba?"

Napansin niya ang pagsalubong ng kilay ni Ags. "No."

"Not yet?" Dammit. Tell me he's boyfriend. You have to tell me he's your crappy boyfriend.

Ags rolled her eyes. He didn't want to add fuel to the fire so he stopped asking, but it didn't mean he stopped thinking about it.

When he was about to go out, Ags suddenly called him, "Apa?" Para siyang may gustong sabihin, pero umiling na lang ito at sinabihan siyang umalis. He didn't know what to do anymore. How could this woman do this to him?

He still couldn't resist her, so when Ags thought he was going to leave already, he went back inside her car and told her they should eat first. Maaga pa naman.
