There were two boys in my class who sat next to me and loved each other like no two people I had ever seen before, always smiling at one another always laughing together.
People would make fun of them for loving each other and bruise their skin for not changing who they were. So they became quieter and their smiles began to fade while their laughter ceased.
Soon they began to hide away and skip class to avoid being beaten. I missed their presence, their warm smiles and soothing laughter that brightened my day.
Their absence became constant and so did my fear. The fear that I would never get to see their beautiful faces light up again became a reality.
The rain reflected my mood on the day the news came. The boys had died in each other's arms meeting death together ending their life with the other by his side.
Every day the empty chairs were a reminder of the two boys that made my life worth living and not long after, I had joined them. But unlike the two boys, I died alone.
