"Stop!" I laughed as Jack kept firing cheesy jokes at me. I've been on the phone with Jack for 2 hours now, and he's done nothing but fire these pun jokes and I can't help but laugh. Not because they're funny, but because he's so cute.

"As long as you keep laughing, I'm not gonna stop."

A smile began to grow on my face. What angelic thing have I done to deserve Jack? No, not Jack Johnson, famous viner and rapper, but Jack, cute and funny Jack.

"Okay fine I'll stop."

"No," I laughed, "Its not that it's not funny, it's just..."

"It's just what?" His patience was growing thin, curiosity oozing from his voice.

"It's just, you make me really happy." I grinned.

There was a pause on the other end, before an exhale and a little chuckle, "You make me extrodinarily happy."

I rolled my eyes at the game he's playing at. He should know he can't win. "You make me happier."

"You actually make me happier."

"Don't tell me we're that kind of couple."

"Couple?" My eyes widened.

Crap crap crap crap. I can't belive I just called us a couple. He didn't even ask me out, he didn't even say he liked me. I just ruined everything we had.

"Ella...?"

"Oh uhm... Yeah, no I-I meant like couple of people. Not like couple couple, like together, because you haven't asked me out. You probably don't even like me, so why would I call us a couple if we weren't dating. But then again, I meant a couple of peop-"

"Ella." He half-laughed.

"Yeah?"

"You're rambling."

"Right..."

It was quiet fpr what seemed like hours. I made everything awkward, and now he can't even speak to me. I just want to curl in my bed and die.

"I should go..." I whispered.

"No, don't." He pleaded, and I mentally question it. We were literally not even talking to each other.

"I should really go sleep now, Jack. I have school in the morning."

"Please. At least fall asleep with the phone on. I won't say a word, I promise." My eyes were getting droopy, the fatigue washing over me.

"Why?" I croaked, fighting back a yawn.

"I just want to hear your breathing. That's all I want."

I smiled, resting my head on my pillow. "Good night Jack."

"Sweet dreams, Ella."

And before I could knock out, I could've sworn I heard an 'I love you.'

But it's probably just my imagination.
