CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Rob's POV

"So, what you're saying is that there's a war between y'all?" Chloe asked Kent.

"That's the idea."

There had been so much I hadn't known. So freaking much! It was amazing how complicated one's life can get within the span of a few days.

Jay spoke, "You still haven't told me anything about my dad."

True. He hadn't. And, that was the main reason Jay had let us come here.

Kent sighed uneasily, "I can't tell you."

Jay jumped up, "What do you mean, you can't tell me? He's my freaking father!"

"HIM. That's all I can tell you. He goes by HIM."

Jay clenched his fists. He looked really pissed. I would be too, I guess. Being told you can't know about your father. Yeah, that would suck. I would hate to be Jay right now.

"Oh, like that's going to help me a lot, Kent."

Kent shrugged, "Sorry, kid. I'm not allowed to tell anybody anything about HIM."

An idea popped into my head. It was stupid, but it was still an idea.

"I think I know a way to get the info on your dad, Jay," I began.

Hopefully, they caught on to what I was trying to do. Chloe definitely did.

"You're right, Rob. Guess it's back to Plan A," she said.

Jay sighed. I think he got what we were up to.

"Yeah, guys. Let's go get HIM out of that creepy WIO place."

He stood up as if to leave. Chloe and I stood up as well. This was going well. We walked towards the front door. I sneaked a peek back at Kent. He wore a confused look. A few seconds later, he jumped up with an unreadable face.

"Hey! HEY! Wait, don't go. You can't just walk in there and get HIM out just like that."

I folded my arms across my chest. Jay did so as well, and Chloe placed her hands on her hips.

"Why not?" we all asked at the same time.

Kent let out an exasperated sigh, "First of all, it's too dangerous. Those guys will kill you on the spot. Second, they'll immediately recognize Jay. Third-"

I cut him off, "Sure. Uh-huh. What are we supposed to do then?"

I saw Jay and Chloe nodding along with me. Kent seemed to be having an argument inside his head. He kept starting to say something, and then stopping. He finally pulled it together after about two minutes.

"Looks like we're going to be going to headquarters. In Germany. Seems as if we've got to save the world. Literally," he declared.

Germany? Awesome!

"Great," I said. "So when do we leave?"

"Now."

I frowned. No way could we leave now. We still needed to book a flight, and all that stuff.

"Um...don't we have to-"

Kent put a hand out to stop me.

"Nope. Being part of the FFO has its perks. Ready, guys? Helicopter is probably going to be here in five minutes or less."

A helicopter flight! Man, this was going to be so cool. I had always wanted to ride in a helicopter. Dreamed of it, pretended it, everything. And now, I was actually going to get to. I couldn't wait.

Our ride to Germany arrived about three minutes later. Right there, in front of the house. Completely normal, right. One by one, we boarded. Time to live my dream.
