CHAPTER ONE

Chloe's POV

"Scheiße! I am so sorry!" I exclaimed as I bumped into someone. I was glad I knew German, for once. I hated swearing in public.

I really should stop watching my feet as I walk. Evidently, it was a bad habit. This was the like the fourth freaking time I had bumped into someone today.

"Oh, no! It's fine. It's my fault, too. And you don't have to apologize. No one else does." a kind male voice whispered to me.

For some reason, my heartbeat sped up and chills ran up my spine. Strange. His reply was so sweet, though. It made me smile.

What was that? Sweet? What the heck is happening to me?

I turned around to look at his face. I just had to. Why, I didn't know. I had no idea what was going on. I had never felt this kind of stuff before: the sped up heartbeat, the spine chills, the smiling at someone else's words, the need and want to see the human who had spoken those words. Sadly, he wasn't where he was a few moments ago.

Crap! Where'd he go? I want to see him!

Apparently, he had started walking again. I thought he was gone. I felt disappointed.

Strange again. I'll have to add that to my list of strange emotions and feelings.

Looking around, I couldn't see anyone who even looked like they would fit the wonderful voice that had spoken to me. I was about to give up hope.

Sighing, I started walking again, thinking that I would forget about this incident by the time the day had ended. Or, at least, be able to get that voice to leave my mind. But as the world is cruel, this was not the case.

His words kept replaying in my mind, haunting me as I walked. I frantically shook my head in a desperate attempt to get that darned boy from interrupting my thoughts.

Calm down, Chloe! You haven't even seen him. Why are you going crazy like this?

Yeah, right! I didn't think I would ever be able to calm down.

Suddenly, something hit my shoe. I groaned, looking down.

I rolled my eyes as I saw a little rock on the ground. Really? I couldn't believe I actually looked down. Jeez, that voice was really messing me up.

I was just about to continue down the sidewalk, but I felt another rock hit me. Getting angry, I whirled around, hoping to catch the culprit.

My heart froze in my chest as I saw the person who had without a doubt been pelting me with the little stones. He stood in an alley, leaning against one of the buildings. His hands were in his pockets, and he looked comfortable and relaxed. I couldn't see his features well, due to his black hoodie shadowing most of his face, but the smirk on his lips was clear as day.

I smiled at him, knowing exactly who he was. I took a step forward into the alley. The smirk on his face shifted into a cute smile. I still couldn't see his eyes. We just stood there for a few seconds, before the boy shook his head, his smile vanishing.

"I-I have to go," he whispered.

I sensed a sort of sad tone to his voice. He gave me a small wave before turning around and walking down the alley.

I stared at him, wanting him right here with me.

"Come back," I whispered softly, reaching my hand out towards him.

I watched his figure recede until it disappeared completely. When he was gone, I took a deep breath, and began walking home again. Now, I had a sense to my stride. A new sense, and a very strong one. I was more determined than I had ever been before in my life.

I don't care what it takes, we will meet again. Soon.

Hi! Just FYI, this book is going to have short chapters. Oh, and I'm going to try and keep all the bad language in German for the younger readers. If you want to know what a word means, private message me and I'll tell you.  :) :P :D
